I do not understand when sellers list something for sale and say that the the item is for sale locally and they want to have the right to cancel there item.It is a waste of everyone's time to bid on these items if the seller decides it has not brought enough money.I think if you put something on ebay as a auction, you should have to sell it if it meets the reserve or it is a no reserve auction.Ebay has gotten to be a big classified ads.If I bid on something I am contracted to pay for it.Putting...

Will there by any sort of records kept on buyers who file SNAD or INR claims over and over again? Will there be put into place a block for sellers to use against buyers who have filed claims in the past? We can block those with unpaid items, why not block those who file too many claims? If not WHY? Regardless of what you may think the buyer is not always right and I should have the ability to block those that never seem to be happy with their eBay purchase. You would think that...

Hello.. A question/clarification regarding the required Returns policy vs. how Paypal/eBay handles any potential disputes. I had a buyer purchase an item. Within the the item, I clearly have stated a return policy of 7 days. I proceeded to ship the item 2 business days after pmt was received (within the stated 5 business day "handling" period), and the item was received by my customer 2 days later (per USPS Delivery Confirmation). 2 weeks (14 calendar days) after the item was...

Hi everyone, We're compiling many of the common questions and answers about several of the changes introduced in Stephanie’s Announcement last Tuesday. They'll be posted in threads like this one and tacked to the top of the board to make it easy to find information (instead of needing to comb through all the various discussions). These are actual member questions and staff responses, with some slight cleanup to make them easier to read. These questions all pertain to shipping and...

I find it disturbing to read that Ebay is planning to restrict methods of payment between buyer and sellers. This draconian policy could affect sales to those customers of mine who do not trust on line transactions and choose to mail me a cheque. I have never had a bad cheque from any Ebay buyer since I started selling in 2000. Ebay has no business tampering with my established customer/business relations and policies. There is absolutely no risk for me or my customers. However, there is...

I haven't sold or bought in a while...I'm scared of Ebay, and the catagories that I sold in I simply got priced out of (media). I do lurk though and hope things changed for the better for people selling. Not until that happens will I start buying or selling again. It's not looking to good at this point. 1) Why is there only 5 days for a seller response? Casual sellers, vacations, life in general can make it to where you may/may not be on Ebay in any given time period. 2) Are any fees...

Previously, we were able to form an alliance with fellow eBay members and have our items cross promoted [i.e., end of auction e-mails, etc.]. A while back we lost the ability to make that choice. It worked well for us because we formed an alliance of sorts with a few members whose merchandise was a compliment to ours [and visa versa]. I would prefer to cross promote an ally versus a competitor. I would be thrilled to get that option back as I believe it would be a nice asset for the new forms....

1. The FAQ mentioned that ebay would look at both buyer and seller history when trying to resolve a dispute. Are you just going to look at the buyer's ebay ID or are you actually going to track their real name and financial info? Because everyone knows you can just create a new ebay id at will. 2. Who exactly are these employees that are going to be resolving disputes? Because this is going to take ALOT of manpower, and its not like ebay has a bunch of employees right now sitting around...

Gosh -- when someone offers free shipping -- and if the change for the DSRs means that whatever rating the buyer leaves is taken out of the mix, I think that will create a huge problem. If that is what happens, it is going to skew the ratings and lower the shipping cost DSRs for many sellers -- for those like me who rarely offer items that don't have free shipping -- that would leave my DSRs open to a real thrashing without the good ratings to bump up that DSR category. When you only have...

OK one of the DSR rating is communications or customer service, now Ebay (the second worst customer service around, Paypal being number 1) is going to handle customer service for me? 1. Will all emails in the dispute and any information given to a customer rep be given to the seller? If a customer claims it is SNAD, will the seller be told what the buyer is saying? 2. When will the refund be given? I will allow a return, but we do not refund until we have the return. 3. Most of...
