Welcome to the NEW 2004 Introduce Yourself thread! The other thread was getting SO long, so let's start a new one for a new year! There are lots of board regulars here, but also lots of newbies and lurkers (like me). I thought it'd be fun to introduce ourselves and get to know each other a little better! My name is Errin. I'm a stay-at-home, homeschooling, eBay mom. I also do the bookwork for my DH's business. I live in a tiny town in Northeast Iowa called Castalia. I've been married...

Welcome to the friendliest place on eBay! This is turkey week and we welcome anybody who finds us for the first time! We are the SCROUNGERS, my friends, and we talk about our finds after we find them. We also talk about our families, our pets, our weather - whatever is interesting. We love thrift stores, auctions, flea markets, yard sales and beside the road!

This is a thread topic designed to help inspire creative dialogue on how the Sellers and Buyers in the EBay community manage to survive bleak Economic times, and political uncertainty that we all face. We are in a deep hole, and we certainly don't want to dig deeper, so all idea's for the survival of the fittest will be welcomed. I am going to start by offering one idea that I have, and hopefully others will follow.

Tweet regarding today's outage under tag #ebayfail (not emailing sellers so they could end auctions, minimizing what is a functional complete system outage). call the better business bureau to report them on Monday. Call and continually demand reasonable compensation, not the insult of listing fee refunds. If we all do this, there will be a positive result for sellers.

Why do these auctions go over the price sometimes??? My DH has a gift card from the Apple Store - and there is really nothing that we want to buy from there...so we have a card we might want to sell. I am just curious if these are hard-to-find, or collectible, or something...because the completed auctions show that sometimes people pay more than they are worth!!! Crazy stuff...and it would be really nice cash to have! Any info. appreciated! Thanks!Kristen

Hi everyone. Hopefully you’ve been following along with our tests of a longer-lasting Buy It Now. As a quick review, here’s what we’re doing: Over the years, we’ve routinely been asked why the Buy It Now option disappears from a listing when the first bid is placed. Our reason has been concern that it would create a confusing experience for a buyer, who could place a bid on an item, but then have someone Buy It Now (BIN) out from under them before the end of the auction. That said,...

I don't sell a lot on Ebay -- just now and then. Right now I have a camera lens listed that I no longer use. The list states very clearly that I only ship to US residents. I have received two inquiries about shipping to Hong Kong or Australia. I said no. I notice in the bid list that two people from China and Korea have placed bids. Neither one of these is the top bidder at the present time. In reading through the forums, I saw that I can block bidders from outside the US. How can...

What are these things that keep cloging up the boards with off topic subjects? They end up at the top of boards and having nothing to do with the board topics. Then no one bothers to explain what they are. I guess they are closed groups set up to make newer users feel they don't belong. I think we need to report them for spaming the boards.

How many got the message saying 50 percent off listing fees then the message stating it was a mistake? Ebay should honor it now.
