Has anyone here ever seen one of these bears. He is about 10" in height and is stuffed with a crunchy type material. I squeezed a bit to hear. He has blonde curley hair, and a pink open mouth. He wears a green and red plaid bow. He is jointed in arms and legs, not sure about head as I am afraid to turn. He is in wonderful shape. He comes in a box that is shaped for him and has a picture of him on front. The box is a dark red color. Has a patent # on box but I cannot locate that online. Not that...

I am looking for a bear that I think was made by the North American Bear company named, "Pockets." He had pockets in his fur...and didn't wear clothes. If anyone can help me find him I would appreciate it greatly.

About 13 years ago (minimum) I saw a teddy bear, which I think was made by Great American Bear Co. The feature of this bear was that it had pockets in it's fur. Was not clothed. Probably was about inches tall and slightly scruffy looking. I promised that when I eventually got pregnant I would buy one - my daughter is now 3 nearly and I can't find one anywhere - I believe they are out of production. Can anyone direct me anywhere next? Thanks!

This mamma and baby aren't cuddly and soft but are kind of cute and are bears. If I should post them on the Collectibles board, let me know. I was thinking of listing them but have no idea if this is Salvation Army donation material or worth listing. There's a "Young's" China sticker on the bottom and looks to have been hand painted. I found some very small Young's bears listed and just one larger one. The height of the mamma bear is about 11". I'm wondering if the reason I couldn't...

Long shot here, but my very favorite childhood toy was a plush hotdog I bought in 1984. The body of the hotdog was vinyl and the bun, arms and legs were cloth. The arms and legs were striped red, white, and yellow, and it had orange Converse sneakers. There was also a 'Superpickle' and a 'Superbanana' in the same line. By any chance does anyone know where I could get my hands on one again, or know who made them so I could try to contact them? It would really mean a lot to me. Many...

Hi, I have acquired recently this old teddy bear, but I need help to identify him. He is about 26 cm (10.2 inch) tall, and he has embroidered red nose and jointed legs and arms (they are conected with metal rod connectors). He has metallic button eyes, they look as they were black once. On his feet he has tan (felt, cloth?) pads, but not on his arms. His body is very solid on touch, stuffing is very firm, it seems that he is excelsior-filled. There is no button anywhere. Thank you very...

Oh he was wonderful, and at least I got to hold him and cuddle him, if but for a brief moment in time. Mr. Steiff was auctionned this afternoon at an auction house near to where I live. He was finally knocked down for 20K and when you add the buyers premium and sales tax, it comes to just a tad over $25,000.00 As he is 24 inches, that works out to $1,000 per inch. moggy

i found a beautiful jointed rabbit today with a tag on it which reads: "Designed and handmade by Adrienne Bowman". On the reverse side of the tag, it says "As the Fur Flies" Now I put the second label part in as a website, but whoever owns that site sells pet food. I googles Adrienne Bowman and found quite a few references to her, but not any dealing with stuffed animals. The tag says Schenectaty, NY and I did find references on Google about an Adrienne Bowman in the same locale, but it was...

Well, I can tell you my little fellow is English, and to me, he has the look of Chad Valley Teddy Bears. Again, IMO, he doesn't look like a Merrythought or Deans Rag. The tricky thing is I see no stitching on his foot where there might have formerly been a label. Beyond that I can't tell you that much. His eyes are glass, his paws are velvet, and he is a silvery-white mohair. Roughly 23 cm/13 inches from head to toe. Sorry for the big size, but a good large close-up is better than a...

To Merge or Not to Merge, that is the Question. Now I collect toys and dolls in addition to bears, so I love and appreciate all three categories. But as far as merging this board with Toys and Dolls, well this person says, PLEASE DO NOT DO IT!!! Bears and other plush animals, IMO, are as specialised as dolls, and while there may be some crossover, in that many doll folks use stuffed animals, specially Steiff as accessories for their dolls, they are not necessarily interested in teddys or...
