This is the contents of the original bibliography thread that fine.books began but ended up being tossed. I had 63 posts to begin with, but I may have edited out posts that were not specific to this thread. (I do that to most of my 'saved' threads so they will be easier to read.)

I do not plan to post a hint or tip-a-day, but I hope others will drop in from time to time and leave a few pearls of wisdom. Kick-off Tip: Use keywords. Seldom do I use the title or author’s name in the 45-space title unless it is a collectible or has a famous illustrator. Usually I use a string of keywords. Sometimes the keywords come easily and other times they are not as obvious. I group by theme as much as possible, both to attract the multiple buyers and to ‘expand’ on the...

I imagine the family gathering around the television to watch a favorite tv show has gone by, just as gathering around the radio to hear a favorite show did many years ago. Where do you gather? (funny looking word "gather", not even pronounced right.) regards, Liz

Srsly. I've got my patches at the ready. Hubby put his on today, with only one slip up. I need encouragement. I want to quit by Thanksgiving. I owe it to myself and my family. My best friend here is now smoke-free for 3 weeks, if she can do it I can, right??? And I am going to her family's house for Thanksgiving.... How does one do this without putting themselves into some kind of lock-up??? p.s. Great, now a grumpy Santa at that! p.p.s. No I have never smoked in the...

Hello, I have a question, a friend of mine is cleaning house and chucked this encyclopedia set at me to sell. I'm at a loss not seeing anything near it on ebay. I have found a set on goantiques running about 128.00. Does anyone know anything about this set by chance. I can load up photos if needed. Hi board. I was wondering if anybody had advice on how I should sell used books. Specifically, I was wondering: -Is it best to do auction or buy-it-now format? -if auction format, what is the optimal starting bid? -what should I charge for shipping? Any other advice you have would be welcome. Thanks.

I happened across a first printing of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" this morning without a jacket. I see that one in similar condition sold here for $132.50 this week. I have an extremely tattered dust jacket from a 22nd printing that fits the first printing points: price - $6.95 code on front flap - 10/57 bottom of back flap - publisher's name and address My question; is it worth any more to sell the two together given how torn and folded the jacket is? I would, of course, disclose...

I've had this volume of Exploration of the Colorado River of the West and its Tributaries for many years and have been wondering about it. It is marked Dept. of State Library as shown in the photos and also noted #399 and Dup. in pencil on the title page. It is not marked Ex Libris and I'm curious to know if it was stolen or whether I legally own it. If you know how to determine this, I would appreciate your help. The condition is terrible but perhaps it retains some value. Thanks, Jeff...

I found it on eBay for over $200 right now, but I see completed listings for around $10. How much is the soft cover from 1983 worth? Is it out of print or something? Thanks.

from my email.... Let me get this straight... ...we're going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, And financed by a country that's nearly broke. What...

Holy shick, and here an hour ago I said I wasn't gonna say anything NOT nice... so much for that crap! I was busy writing up a new listing and knew I had a couple of auction listings ending today. No new emails, so they hadn't ended yet... WRONG! Just discovered that they both ended already. One with no bids and the other one surprisingly good - But I got NO EMAIL indicating anything! So... did the winning bidder get an email? Who the freak knows! The last one ended at 12:30:38 -...
