This is the contents of the original bibliography thread that fine.books began but ended up being tossed. I had 63 posts to begin with, but I may have edited out posts that were not specific to this thread. (I do that to most of my 'saved' threads so they will be easier to read.)

I do not plan to post a hint or tip-a-day, but I hope others will drop in from time to time and leave a few pearls of wisdom. Kick-off Tip: Use keywords. Seldom do I use the title or author’s name in the 45-space title unless it is a collectible or has a famous illustrator. Usually I use a string of keywords. Sometimes the keywords come easily and other times they are not as obvious. I group by theme as much as possible, both to attract the multiple buyers and to ‘expand’ on the...

Compare that with Palin's gun-totin', lard eatin', baby packin', image. Thank heavens this country has better representation. I'm tired of the world thinking we're the meanest, ugliest bunch of yahoos on earth. If I don't reply to some posts, it's because there are some people whose posts I never read.

Yeah, I know, I usually avoid politics like the plague. But that's because I don't understand it good enough, and it changes everyday and I can't keep up with the rules and all. You probably think I'm kidding, but I'm not. Did you feel the Earth tremble? I asked my friend (yes, I do have one) what was going on because I thought they had already voted on this issue, and he said they had, last April. My friend is not happy, many are not happy, because this is how they play politics around...

He says "you were driving 10 mph under the speed limit ma'am" you have your drivers license on you?" blah blah blah I say "gee officer, I didn't realize it was illegal to drive carefully" Then he says in a condescending tone "you don't drive much at night ma'am?" In Book News . . .Seeing Red Over Palin Parody New York Post, November 23, 2009 A parody of Sarah Palin's book "Going Rogue: An American Life" has been causing huge confusion -- forcing Palin's publishers HarperCollins to take out ads to direct buyers to the official version. The rival book, "Going Rouge: An American Nightmare," was released on the same day as Palin's memoir and features an almost identical cover. Colin Robinson, co-publisher of the book, compiled by Nation magazine...

I am at mom's house in New Orleans as I always try to head in earlier than the others to help her with the cooking. Thankfully I don't mind cooking. Of course when I left Mississippi it was colder than here. So we froze leaving and hit the state line and began sweating. I hear a cold front is coming through so this should be interesting as you never know how to dress here. It took me forever to get here, (so it seemed) in the new car. They have this pain in the butt console between the...

Hi board. I was wondering if anybody had advice on how I should sell used books. Specifically, I was wondering: -Is it best to do auction or buy-it-now format? -if auction format, what is the optimal starting bid? -what should I charge for shipping? Any other advice you have would be welcome. Thanks.

I've had this volume of Exploration of the Colorado River of the West and its Tributaries for many years and have been wondering about it. It is marked Dept. of State Library as shown in the photos and also noted #399 and Dup. in pencil on the title page. It is not marked Ex Libris and I'm curious to know if it was stolen or whether I legally own it. If you know how to determine this, I would appreciate your help. The condition is terrible but perhaps it retains some value. Thanks, Jeff...

For those who missed this informative article by Steve Santi, the History of Little Golden Books at Antique Trader. [Note: LGB's were issued with dust jackets from 1942-1947; the books issued with dust jackets have blue cloth spine. Post-1947, the books were issued with DJ and with the familiar gold foil spine.]In...
