I'm trying to go to the web site of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America. When I click on the link - or type it in manually - I get the warning box, which goes on to say "Do you want to save this file or find a program online to open it?" This is the first time I've ever had this warning pop up when clicking a link. What is it about? Why is there a file to open? I just want to go to the link, and look around for information. Here's the...

I, sort of, am having a chance to test Verizon's FIOS internet connection tonight. We had freezing rain all day today and the trees and cables are iced up when I got home. Early in the evening we lost power and then the cable service (TV, phone and internet) feeding into our house. I was frustrated because I needed to response to some emails, and post some listings. I was playing with my wireless connection and noticed another unsecured network available. The signal wasn't strong, only two...

I am puzzled by the fact that when I make a Word Art insertion using WORD2000 it is great. The Word Art can be moved onto a photo as though on a transparency with great effect. With WORD2003 (presumably more advanced) the Word Art is inserted in a picture style frame and cannot be overlapped onto an inserted photo. Am I overlooking something in WORD2003?

If you remember this computer that you and I worked so hard to get running correctly, today Pastor gave it away. Now I need to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS. It has lots of sensitive information on it. Win2000 HP Vectra L420 MT It has a partition which is empty. Is the reinstall much different that that for the recent XP that was posted? How long does it take? I only have two hours on the job tomorrow, but I can bring it home with me and do it over the weekend.

Disgusted with sellers that post as new or NIB (new in box) when clearly the item is not new and the ones that say NIB have parts missing. This is on Router/Modems. Wires or CD for install are missing. These sellers should be monitored. When I place a bid on NIB I expect all parts to be there !

Just started to encounter this: when I click on a folder in favorites, either the subdirectory list don't show, or the same subdirectory list shows no matter which folder I click on. Clearing cookies and cache doesn't help. Signing out of IE and back on makes the subdirectories appear properly the first time I go to Favorites, but after that the problem recurs. What's odder still is that when the subdirectory list doesn't show, a blank white space appears which must contain the...

I want to buy a Microsoft Windows XP Pro software to downgrade my Vista to XP. The computer manufacturer has advised me to purchase a retail version of Windows XP Pro. What should I look for in buying a full version with SP3? What does OEM stand for?

I bought this used computer. Has Vista 64 Ultimate. AMD X2 5000 Black box CPU. Has two 512mb pci-e video cards. Crossover cable on the top video card has 4 studs to secure it. Was noticed at purchase that 2 were stripped on one side. Seller indicated easy fix & told me how to fix. I noticed once I had it home that it was not an easy fix and it was not fixable the way he had said. Card would need to be removed and 2 studs on video card would need replacement. I left it alone. It's now a couple...
