I'm a newbie at cooking. I'm wondering what is the best way to prepare chicken that is to be used in other recipes. For example, lots of casserole recipes call for several cups of diced cooked chicken. Do I get a whole chicken, breasts (boneless or not?), assorted pieces, etc. Do I roast it, bake it, boil it? And how long do I cook it? Do, I have to use a cooking thermometer? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I love chinese food. There is a chinese style restaurant in the area. I love their food, but they are very expensive. Does anyone have good recipes, so I could make chinese food myself?

I just moved to Monroe, Washington from Southern California. I would like to have some things stored in my pantry that I could put together quickly for when people drop by. Some kind of clever, quick snack recipes where I could have the ingredients on hand so I would be able to feed my new neighbors/new friends. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. And I just love Monroe, Washington.

I am a good cook but seem to have a brain fart when it comes to variety with wild game. My husband hunts and god knows what he'll bring home: squirrel, hedgehog, deer.... I do not eat it myself but would like ideas from you other worldly people on preparation. Gotta keep the marriage frosty, ya know? Can you help me? TIA

Hi! I make chicken every night, and decided that it's time for a change. How about a chicken recipe thread? Please post your good chicken recipes here. I'll start with one that I found on this board. I made it once, and it became a real staple, everyone loves it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hulapenguin (4) (view author's auctions) 11/12/03 06:25 AM(#39 of 45) Ah, this is where I was going to post this one. ::grin::...

My teens are having a party here for which I am glad - (at least they're not wanting to go out somewhere!) and also terrified - (15 teenagers in my house all at once wanting food? scarey!). They're mainly watching scarey movies and eating... nothing too difficult, but my kids have asked for: "Food that still tastes good, but looks like gross stuff..." I KNOW WE USED TO HAVE A TREAD FOR THIS!...Here's the only ideas I have, they like the stew idea - (I'll use my crock-pot) but said the...
