Hi all and thanks in advance for any help here. I picked these dolls up at a thrift shop and have no idea. The box came with the larger doll, but has no maker on it. The 1st one is 4" tall, head and limbs are non-moving. The 2nd one is6" tall, arms & head move. Are worth listing?

So I was thrifting yesterday and this sweet, abused, baby looked at me. When I picked her up, she sighed. The stories she would tell if she could speak! I put her back on the shelf 3 times, and couldn't find it in my heart to leave her behind. So I brought her home. Outside of Ebay, where can I find someone that will love her and give her a second chance? Surely someone would want her, right?

OK , I bought a doll with a BIN. It was listed as TLC with creaky joints. That was fine. I won the doll on a weekend. I emailed the seller and told her I would pay Tuesday when I get my check. She emailed back and demanded I pay instantly (even though the auction didn't state that) I was a little ticked but I said fine and charged the doll. She then emails me back and said she could not ship the doll due to snow and hoped I understand. (pfft like she was so understanding about waiting for...

Venting here. I just got a doll from an ebay auction today, and she arrived damaged. This is the second one that I have received with damage in the last 4 or 5 weeks. The problem is poor packing. This doll is a little German compo, and arrived with the sleep eyes broken out. Her head is not bisque, but the eyes were set with plaster as they are in a bisque head. She also has a hairline crack on her forehead, so the box must have been dropped or thrown. A few weeks ago, I got another sweet...

I have plans to make a dress for the sewing by owner category for the UFDC convention in July. The category is titled "Girls in White Dresses with Blue Satin Sashes" derived from the song "These are a Few of my Favorite Things" which is their theme this year. I was going to make it for my "Early" Jumeau that I featured in my recent magazine story, but Colette, my little FG on a Bru body put up such a fuss that I gave in and am making it for her. I wasn't comfortable taking my favorite doll to...

I have a few old Wards Catalogues from 1958 and 1961. I will show a few pages from the toy section. If you want to share any pages feel free. They are great for seeing what "All Original" really is. Don't we all wish we could get them for their original prices! Kathy I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Hey guys, I have been researching this girl all weekend and am having problems finding who she is. She has nothing on her neck and she has, on her lower back, Mattel Inc 1966. Every doll that I come across that looks like her either has the wrong arms or wrong hair length. Any ideas? This next bubblecut is very odd to me. She has a pinker tone than my others and her bubble is so tight. She needs a makeover, lol! TIA!

I have what I believe is a Madame Alexander doll. She is 24" tall. Her body is one piece; there are no joints. The back of her neck reads "A-255" and there is a raised "A" at her lower back, above the butt. She is a hard plastic that gives when pressed with my finger. Does anyone know anything about this doll? What kind of markings did MA dolls have? I have cleaned her with mild soap and some Comet but there are splotches below the surface that don't seem to come out. Is there some kind...

I'm beginning to have my feelings hurt. I ask a couple of questions about a box of dolls I won at a local auction and even though I bumped my post 3 times it goes straight to the bottom of the list. I realize that most posters here are the same people so maybe I made a faux pa that only you guys know; If I did someone needs to tell me. I have sold some dolls thru Ebay and will sell more and had a couple of questions about the Alex's. I believe I've got it covered now but just wondered why no...
