I have had this pin sitting around for awhile, found in a lot I bought. I keep moving to the bottom and putting aside, not sure if I should just junk or sell. Not sure what it is. It came in this box. It's marked China on the pin. Tiny tiny beads strung all the way around, the back of the pin or the pin bar is missing. Anything, or should I just trash? Thanks again....

At my thrift store, I asked to look at a very pretty glass bead necklace. While I was looking at it, the string broke. Honestly, I wasn't doing anything strenuous with the necklace; I was just looking at it. It was priced at $25. which I thought was kind of high but I felt so bad about breaking the string that I bought it (the employee was such a sweetie, he kept telling me I didn't have to). When I got home, I realized there was something written on the clasp and, with my loupe, it looks...

Hi Everyone ! Any ideas what to call these very large flat back purple/pink stones with the points facing up ? They are marquise shaped. Also, any ideas who may have made this set ? I don't think it's D&E and I'm hoping the earring backs will give a clue. I've never seen the hardware connected with a band of metal before. TIA.

Whaddya think--D&E? And this one...West German? Would this be Nouveau? Would these beads be aventurine glass? There are little goldish sparkles inside the glass. Also--time frame? Am I right in thinking this is Lea Stein? And finally, this is sterling. The lavalier is in really bad shape--filthy, and the little pearls falling off because the wire they're on is disintegrating. The pearls are too yucky to salvage. Anybody got any thoughts on how to repair?...

I was looking at some earrings and came across this listing: 110288276445 I know one isn't supposed to discuss a current listing but my question isn't about the item but about the fact the seller is using a photo of Garbo to hawk her wares. Is it okay to use a photo of Garbo (or Jean Harlow or Marilyn Monroe or James Dean etc...) in this manner? It just seems wrong to me somehow. Thanks in advance. Bettye

So, I've decided to learn how to use a soldering iron (don't worry, I have a nice isolated spot picked out, far away from any innocent bystanders), searched the forum, and found mostly feedback on soldering itself (will keep the play-doh trick in mind, as mostly what I intend to do is minor spot repairs on things). Does anyone have a recommendation on the brand of equipment to buy (what kind, specifically of iron/torch, and any features that you consider a necessity)? I know I will need...

Okay folks. The names have been drawn and will soon be on their way to you! Now for the fun part! Please post some ideas about what you would like or need for your Secret Santa. Since many of us have drawn people we don't know it will give them, and all of us to get to know more about you. Your list can contain whatever you want, but things like your favorite color, likes or dislikes in jewelry, favorite scents etc would be helpful. Things that you like or dislike...Decorating...

Hi - I have about 15 old stickpins including a green beetle scarab and I've been looking at listings. I was surprised to see how cheap they are, even the 14k ones. I guess I would have thought this would have been a good item for collectors. Does anyone here deal in stickpins? I know you all like photos and here's just some of them. (I'm still cleaning the rest, they're pretty filthy) The last one below is actually 14k, I tested it earlier.

I like to drill things with my dremel. I drilled these which I thought were plastic, because the rhinestones are plastic. When I got them, they were earrings that someone had glued a back onto. The backings removed easily (probably stuck on with E6000) But, while I was drilling them, I smelled a very strong burnt rubber odor. To make certain, I drilled another hole, and asked my buddies (without giving them a clue). They all said it stunk like burnt rubber. They are very...

I cannot seem to find this mark on this cute little boy & girl pin. Anyone recognize it. It looks like "ME" with a 25 or 925? above it and there is a "C.L." on the lower portion of it. Any idea if it is sterling and the manufacturer and age of this piece? Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Stan7623

Let me first say, everything I've learned about bakelite I learned from you guys... This necklace (which I believe would be called "end of the day bakelite?) is huge. I checked it with 409 after cleaning with soap and water and it definatley turned the q-tip yellow!! Actually yellower than it looks in picture. It has the feel and weight, no smell though (I have found a few of the pieces I've had I didn't get "the smell")...So what do you guys think? Should I do some more test or could a...

I was wondering if anyone could help me with these 2 bracelets before I list, want to describe as accurate as possible. The gold tone one, any idea on age, maker? I guess these are glass, and faux pearls. I have not seen a clasp style like this, kind of big . Would this just be described as a silvertone filligree setting style? No markings anywhere. Thanks so much!

Just because I sometimes like to cause trouble. I thought I would let all of you know of changes that are live today. You know how when you go to completed listings and search, and when viewing a listing all of the active listings take forever to load at the top? Well, starting today, all active listings will have this "feature" as well. The criteria for the items placed at the top of your listing are relevance, then the items that are most watched. If you do not want your competition's...

this guy is probably well known to regulars here-- runs a store in Moorpark CA- He is a pure gold- grabber-- buys anything and everything with the word gold in it- doesn't look nor care about the description-- than evaluates the amount of gold in his purchases and SNAD's those that don't profit him.... It's like sending your jewelry to a cash4buriedtreasure - or cash4gold buyer and letting them decide ahead of time what they're going to pay you-- and they'll just send it back if they...

Hello,So, this is a contemporary necklace, marked "Exclusive .925" on one side of the tag, and "TMC" or "MTC" on the other. The enameling is plique a jour, with beautiful opalescence in the flowers. The whole thing is quite well made - most of the leaves and flowers are on articulated stems and move just beautifully while being worn... I am really curious to know who made this piece, but I have checked the illusion site, and googled and googled, with no luck! Anyone have any ideas, any at...

I love this woman I sell for. She called me last night and asked me to come pick up a few items. I came home with a van full. Most of it is Royal Daulton, Lenox and Waterford Crystal. This was the only piece of jewelry. As you can see from the quarter, he's very large (3" tall). No missing stones. Does he look like any particular designer? Are those wedding cake beads? Also, do you concur on 1950's when Orientalia was big?

I haven't sold anything here for almost 2 years, but am contemplating putting a few rounds of things up in the next few weeks--stuff that is languishing in my case at the mall, which I KNOW would sell well here. What policy stuff have I missed that I need to know about that I would've missed, not being a seller? Any potential pitfalls? Also, since I don't have any recent selling feedback, will I have my funds held by PayPal? I have listing software that is up-to-date, so I don't need to...

I have these nice pieces of operculum that I bought at separate times but since they all had the green they kinda go nice together. The earrings are kinda NA in design, the ring is handmade but the necklace is classic old operculum. I also have a bracelet and pin in the old style but they don't have the green so figured I'd sell them separate from this. Whatcha think, better as a set or by themselves? __________________ Whatcha doin'?

Hi, I really need all your help on this necklace. I think it could be cherry amber but I'm just not sure. The necklace is over 30" and quite heavy nearly 200g. The large beads are approx 1 5/8" across and have some areas where the top layer has kind of flaked. Quite a few of them have uneven bubbles and other bits of debris in them when a light is shinned through them. I did put a hot needle into one of the holes and it was a sweet smell. I've included lots of photos...sorry some are not too...

Thanks for looking. I am fixing to sit down with all my books & see if I can spot anything like this necklace, but wondered if anyone has any idea about maker? I think it's cool the way the links are attached. No marks. This guy is very bright & intimidating at the same time. Is he Inca, a tiki god or just dressed up for a night on the town? No marks. Lets see what you've got listed, or are going to list. ( But don't hog the thread,*lol*.) Please no long drawn out descriptions, but length or width is helpful. If the piece is signed, just simply name the maker, or unsigned, or gold or silver. Keep It Simple. Please make sure your pics are no larger than 640 x 480 for those of us on dial-up.. Bring it on, ladies and gents!
