There's a new bill that has passed for Montgomery County Maryland. It's a Secondhand Property Bill enacted on March 31, 2009. I put a copy of the text of the bill in the toolkit area of the TA Portal. All TAs & REDOLs will have access to it, but it is important that those TAs & REDOLs that are affected, read it. Sharon

Hey guys! OK, in the last 24 hours I got 2 phone calls from people seeking trading assistants, who didn't live anywhere near me. Both were using google (one google 411) and I came up closest to them on google search. However, I am NOT the closest TA to either of them! In one case, the caller was from Brooklyn (my home town) where I happened to know who the TAs are. In the other case, the call came in while I was at my computer. The caller was from Yonkers, which is pretty far from Long...

His wife passed away last year. The kids got some and he kept 1 for fried fish. Jeez, I HATE these things. Heavy and complicated. Most, if not all are seasoned. She would buy them, scrub them, season them, them store them. Any ideas. Most of the ones I see are not worth it, PLUS they are heavy. Should I pass??? Ann

I am currently a powerselller. I recently started a small business offering a service to small and medium businesses in groups. I would classify the service as advertising/marketing. The annual service sells for $349 and I am considering offering the service for sale on ebay. It is unique and not currently offered anywhere on ebay. Are there any trading assistants that have had any success in ventures similar to this? This is NOT MLM!!! I am the owner of the company. Thanks,...

I know, pretty EXCITING. I am wondering if I should sell asis or remove the original plastic. Remove plastic-can open box and photo contents, show true condition, partly torn plastic can be problematic to ship. ASIS-Box is slightly buckled, some buyers prefer items not fooled with, true condition is apparent (idiot kept his precious toy collection in boxes in basement instead of plastic totes). Can I have a quick vote from the group, please. Ann

I was scouring Craigs for ops and got this response: 'The thing is- there is a silly rule on eBay that you're not supposed to import the shirts from certain countries, one of those countries being China.. But it seems that if you only list 2-3 auctions at a time, eBay is ok with it, and they shouldn't take the listings down.. So this is why we need sellers to help us.. The more people we have selling, the more shirts that we can sell. You know what I mean? A great way to work this...

I have been trying to find a trading assistant that will help me sell my 30 years worth of pig collecting. I have some things that are hard to find and are worth some money, everything from jewelry, glass, crystal, wood, metal etc. I realize not everything is worth selling but maybe some things can be sold in lots. I really could use the money right now and I think I have gotten way too many pig things anyway. If you or someone you know can help me I would be glad to talk to them about what...

I only ship UPS and let the ebay shipping calculator compute the shipping, which it does at the retail or counter rate, the highest UPS has. I only add a handling charge if there is unusual packaging required. Unfortunately this policy of using ebay's own rates gets you into DSR trouble...particularly troubling when you know that ebay is taking a cut of the UPS payment when you print a label from PayPal. I receive greater than power seller discounts from UPS as I have a business forms company...

I've had several people approach me about selling items for them. Is there anywhere I can get copies of contracts and forms specifically for this? Where can I go to get advice, information and/or help on the best way to do this? I've read several posts on the AC both pro and con. I believe I can do this if I have a well written contract and well defined policies and expectations. I plan to have a limited client base initially. One friend recently acquired a large number of items from an...

I was at a live auction this last weekend, and long story short, someone asked me about my work, so I told them. Boy did that create a buzz fast. I haven't gotten my new merchandising cards yet, they'll be here in a few days...but anyway... Has anyone worn logo or business branded jackets, shirts, etc., to alert others to what you do? If I'd been wearing something logo-ish with a hint of eBay on it (I know I can wear their branded logo) - I probably would have been trampled, not to...
