On another board for T/A's, which is not very active, there was a survey as to where people were conducting their business. The question was, if they worked from home VS having a B&M Store as a Drop Off Location. I was surprised to learn that over 50% were operating from home, actually closer to 60%. This is a much more active board, plus I think more people that are actually doing consignment sales as a business. I'm curious to know where you Guys operate your business from ?? Currently I...

I shy away from anything even remotely VERO, Channel/Rolex/Juicey faster than I run from mutant beanie babies. I have major trust issues and am extremely protective of my feedback. Plus, being not so bright, I hate anything complicated. Hubby bought a Omega watch and after posting on the watch board, it appears to be geniune. Lots of interest. I have received 5 questions since I posted about if I am putting it up. Here's the posting. Can I get some basic advice here? Is it worth...

Recently two clothing consignment stores in San Antonio, TX where I live have raised their commissions such that the client only gets 35%. YES, you heard me correctly, the person with the goods gets the meager 35%. Previously they had a 60% shop-40% customer for high end designer items, not under $10 cheapo stuff. Are you seeing eBay Trading Assistant consignment sellers and consignment store raising their fees in your city?Linda Free Sign Up!

Yeah, so this agent will pick up this $800 jukebox this week, haul it to his house, the buyer paid this morning and will be back in town next month to pick it up. Got that? Read it again. I sort of know the agent. I don't know if he has anything in writing from the buyer saying he can pick this up. I don't know how to word a receipt so the agent can sign it saying he picked up the item and is responsible for it. I don't know much. How do I do this? I read through our other threads, but...

other, boat accessories, and collectibles. The company doesn't seem to make these anymore. It seems to work OK. I guess. Looks new. I think. Um. What do I do here. I can't answer any questions. "Is this the slop job style or the whug dug style?" "What size blahblah will it fit into?". Scary. I asked a few guys who come in-guys who fish or do construction. No idea. Sigh. Secretly I miss beane babies with there little tags. Ann

I have sold items for this consignor and have a check for her. I still have several valuable items of hers as well. I received a phone call from a friend of hers to tell me that she has passed away and she wants to come pick up her items.I know that her husband has already passed away and I don't think that she had children. What should be done with her check and the remaining items? Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, I have sold a bunch of stuff for a friend/client. Not quite sure if there is some sort of general rule of thumb about: 1. Who pays the listing fees? (I have had to list some of these items multiple times before they got sold) 2. Who pays the FVF? 3. Who pays shipping charges? 4. Who pays the PayPal fees? (I am taking the money in on my PayPal account.) 5. What is a fair commission? I've heard 25% up to 35%.Does the commission slide based on the amount of the item sold ie: high...

I have been a Power Seller for a while with little problems until i started selling items that one of my major eBay competitors is selling. all of the sudden my listings are being canceled for copyright violations (i use all my own pictures and text, nothing is borrowed, everything is real) I email and ask them how i can resolve this every time and they never respond. I email and call every single contact i can find with no luck and eBay's best answer is for me to "wait" it's...

Its late and I can’t sleep. I creep downstairs with the grey and white cat to my desk in the back of the shop. The alarm is off, our security dog is upstairs asleep, but my desk light illuminates. I log in and check email and my current listings. Suddenly, the cat leaps from my desk, startling me. I gaze up, and there’s a shadowy figure at the front door. Tap. Tap. Tap. Its 2am, and I am certainly NOT opening the door. All the lights are off except the one on my desk. I know he can see...

I am looking to expand the services offered to my clients. One client I have listed a few cars for also sells houses. I have reviewed the listing fees for Real Estate on ebay, is anyone else currently doing something like this on this forum? I am in Michigan, do you know if I need a license of some type if all I am doing is listing the property? I plan to meet with a Real Estate friend of mine later this week to go over the legal end of things. Thanks!Detroit Area Trading Assistant...

Over the last couple of weeks I've had quite a few calls from people asking me to teach them to sell on eBay. This surprises me since I have only had one or two request over the years to do this. I've never taught this before...not sure I want to but before I said no I wanted to hear from those of you who do this the pros and cons. Also, what do you charge a person for this service? What materials do I need to do this and/or is this even possible without taking the ES course? My gut...

Dear eBay Community, I have a question I am hoping to get some perspective and feedback from. I sell for a number of clients and a very wide variety of items. With lesser expensive items I have a flat rate commission I charge. Recently I am about to sell a very expensive piece of art work. I am seeking to know of a “standard” tiered commission structure that is used for expensive items. Occasionally I get these to sell for clients and my normal commission would not be viable...

What do you do when an item a client consigns is not paid for?? File?? I did that, waited and had a steady flow of attempting to communicate with the bidder and guess what?? After 12 days, I gave up due to client wanting the item sold and I get negged for closing the dispute! Yes, she was able to get the unpaid strike removed which I honestly did not care about...alll I wanted is for it to be mutually removed if she could not pay and my FVF rescinded. Now she has a nice clear name (at...
