Get your act together on vintage costume jewelry item specifics

These appear, disappear and reappear with no rhyme or reason and the current ones are confusing and duplicative. "Metal" contains too many dropdown entries that are more appropriate to FINE jewelry than costume (most costume jewelry is made from base-metal alloys that are proprietary to the specific manufacturers) and "metal purity" is only applicable if the piece is claimed as being precious metal. There is no need for separate "stone" and "main stone" entries; those are duplicative. "Type" and "Style" are confusing unless guidance is given by way of dropdowns. Why is there a "Closure" specific for pins and not for necklaces? Why is there no item specific for "Brand" in some of the DESIGNER SIGNED categories? Why are there no item specifics for size? There are probably more problems elsewhere but those are the ones I've noticed lately. Maybe whoever is in charge of this should be asking sellers for input?

Sorry if this is OT but as others have pointed out, these boards are about the only place where a pink might actually listen to us.

Good Evening bluedaemon23 -

Thanks for taking the time to post.

Most areas of the site are driven by item specifics input by the community, but we will take a look and see what we can do to improve the experience.

We would love to hear more of your thoughts regarding item specifics. As you noted, it is a bit off topic for this forum, so you can either contact the item specifics team by emailing taxonomy@ebay.com, or email me directly at marnisue@ebay.com. (If you choose to email me, please use regular email as opposed to my eBay messages.)

Please let us know if you are referencing the selling item specifics or what you see in search. If selling, if you could include the category or item ID as well, that would be helpful.

Have a wonderful weekend,
To the top
