Since when is USPS First Class Mail Expedited?

I hope this graphic on the Shipping Services Update page is incorrect. It shows USPS First Class Mail as Expedited with 2-3 business days. It should be Standard and 2-5 business days:

Since on AMAZON, Expedited means Priority Mail it makes no sense for ebay to classify USPS/FC as expedited, big brother would not approve. Anyway, who really cares about all these changes? The majority of my customers are far smarter than any of the people "working" at ebay who need to justify these bi-annaual changes to keep their jobs. All I know is I do not get an email from AMAZON every 6 months saying I have to change things for the benefit of MY customers. MY customers like me & appreciate my products & my services. Can ebay say THEIR customers (SELLERS) like their products & services?

> If your carrier consistently does not deliver within the estimated delivery times, consider trying a different shipping carrier.

I would LOVE to. I have a FedEx account and consider them the best way to ship items over about 5 lb. But the "calculated shipping" option only offers USPS and UPS. How about adding FedEx?

Hi mama.sylvia,
We understand that some sellers have asked to have FedEx added as an option to offer buyers and are working on making this available. Meanwhile, please consider using the new "Standard shipping" and "Expedited shipping" servicesoffered in 10.3that allow you to set the right buyer delivery expectations.

eBay seems focused on the lower end of the "official" estimate rather than the higher end, which is where the label should be determined.

I actually had a 1st class package delivered in 1 day last week. It went to Fort Collins, a city about 45 minutes away from me. It was at the Cheyenne PO by their 6:30 deadline, went to Denver (the local sorting center) that night, and was back in Fort Collins in time to be delivered in the next day's mail.

At least 90% of my sales go first class. That is the ONLY time I have seen a 1-day delivery since I started selling on eBay in 2001.

I agree with the subject line. First class is not expedited shipping and it is only going to lower our DSRs to say so.

> We've NEVER been consulted with. HAS ANYONE?? Please identify yourself if you have !

Here's another long-time seller who has never been consulted ...

Reminds me of beta-testing an old money management program. We had a BBS to bring concerns to the developers. We caught all KINDS of stupid changes that made the program unfriendly and difficult to use.

eBay would be smart to set up a board just for communication with sellers AND LISTEN TO IT. I say that even if I wasn't eligible for membership because I'm a small-time seller. If eBay would listen to the sellers, it could become an absolutely fantastic selling site.

But I'm not holding my breath.

More babysitting by Ebay where it is not need. We already post how quick the item ships.
This will do nothing but set Sellers up for even more low DSR's that are unwarranted.
During the holidays when shipping is at it's peek those estimated delivery times are unrealistic for the post office. Even though the post office did the best this past Christmas, some priority mail packages did take up to 7 days at Christmas. All it takes is 2 or 3 and a great Seller looses any discount because of DSR ratings..
Ebay, stop all the changes, your killing our sales as it is.

Just my 2 cents, but I think any service that doesn't have a guaranteed delivery date should NOT be called expedited.

(On a side note - how can the USPS even estimate 1st class transit times when so much of it is untrackable and you can't even get delivery confirmation?? )

If you can not get eBay to understand this simple fact, then why even bother asking questions?

You can never change a mind made up, when the mind is closed to further information!

Sad to state, isn't it?
