New unpaid system that starts this fall is a huge crock.

New unpaid system that starts this fall is a huge crock.

eBay claims that if buyers don't pay, then they can't neg you. And that only if they successfully appeal their strike, they can neg you. But the real truth is that every single time that a buyer appeals their unpaid strike, eBay always, 100% of the time removes it, even if the buyer never answered. So on the new system buyers will be able to neg sellers even when they don't answer the dispute.

Hmm, thanks for this info. I have been fuming the last couple days over a seller who initiated a case against me because I forgot to pay for a $10 item. The thing is that she did this without a courtesy of first bothering to send me an email as outlined in the Ebay resolution guidelines. Immediately on receiving the alert from Ebay, I paid, and now she will still not remove the case (She is careful to correct me on saying she did not yet issue a strike.) with reasoning regarding a refund although I have not received the item yet and am not sure what my lapse of memory has to do with an unrequested refund. A little customer service would go a long way here. Nice to know I will have recourse with Ebay although so far they have NOT closed my case. So I would not say it was that easy to get a strike removed. I cannot even get the pre-courser to a paid unpaid strike removed!!!!

Even though I am new to Ebay, and Reputation is everything too me as a person and a seller of whatever product, this unpaid system is a crock and even though I am new myself I simply forget Ebay altogether. There are very nice auction sites out there I have been using as well since I have suppliers on consignment and may stick with them.

I would not remove the claim till the item was delivered and I was sure the transaction was completed.

You forgot to pay and then complain she owes you a courtesy

Ebay may suggest things to do, but we don't have to follow them.

The new Ebay rule to be able to file an unpaid dispute in 4 days is way past due !!

a few inconsiderate bidders take your item off the sale list and do not pay ..you wait..you email and finally it is declared you will not be paid ...now go sell it again!1 I do block the bidder from my ebay but I do not risk neg feedback ...what's the use ..you only hurt yourself when they return the neg!!! I just wish bidders wouldn't bid if they are not going to buy the item ..what is the purpose in this??? bye.

For the same token there are buyers that drop a NFB on sellers for doing the exact same thing.

Good example, "I paid and two weeks later I still didn't get the item, I did receive a tracking number but never thought to check the number to see where the package is so I just dropped the Seller a NFB. Ummmmm... the seller then goes crazy trying to find out what happened and all that could have been avoided if the buyer would have just contacted the seller to find out that maybe the package was lost and a new one or refund could be sent out.

I have had a record amount of buyers that don't pay for their items as i give around two weeks on average for every buyer and now Ebay does not even allow me to leave them an unpaid item strike. What this means is that Ebay does not want to lose any of its buyers no matter how bad and destructive they can be to the Ebay community.

Now a buyer can keep buying and not paying for items as much as they please. It is also harder to block buyers and relist items as Ebay no longer gives the option that they used to unless you dig around for it.

I certainly hope Ebay makes more requirements for buyers as they have been for sellers as i see more and more bad buyers coming to the site so believe me when i say your grief is not felt alone.
