Stolen " ebay" name and password...

How do you handle it when someone close to you steals you account. I don't have an answer yet. They know all your personal information they can get your telephone number,

address even passwords; so how do you protect yourself?  My problem is a female young adult yours, may or may not be.  Who do you call? Police, my parents, their parent or parents what is it if anything that can be done. How do you even talk to them? When do you even see this person. If your a the target of this type of abuse," yours," is never  at a place to be reached. Although you may think someone or all of the contacts listed may be in your corner they do not have time or they really don't care.

It's not my problem this time.

I would cancel the account and get a new one with different information

New eMail with a FREE email account >> I believe G mail

Use your middle name when you register

Name >> Joe Blow Smith

Use Blow Smith this time

Change things up a little, don't give ANYONE the information this time

My account was "stolen" on Thanksgiving Day 7 years ago.  I looked at my auctions (I just list depression glassware), and my auctions were covered with computer software.

After contacting eBay, I changed my password (they had already done that for me).  I also got a new email address.

In your case, if the person is someone you KNOW----what difference does it make if you use your first or middle name like the poster above suggested?  They most likely know your whole name AND address AND phone number.

It is IMPORTANT that you do NOT use FALSE information when registering for an account on eBay.

Best of luck and this time use one heck of a password~!!

eBay actually  warns of this all the time.

NEVER give or leave you password available to others even family.

your user name is fine it's to be given out so others can find you and bid on your items for sale or contact you............

"passwords are sacred secrets"

change them regularly - don't use the same for every account Write them down  and keep them with you in wallet only..pain but necessary at times.

you dothe same thing you'd do if someone stole your credit cards, have acc # changed (phone cc co bank etc)

if it's on line the same..if they stole money and won't return then you can press charges with police....

Your safety is your responsibility not the other guys so take measures to keep you safe.

I can beat a stolen id story

On April 16th this year , a Sony Z1 camera was stolen from my house. It appeared on Ebay 2 days later at 99 pence. I bought it at nearly 4,000 GBP new. The police were informed within two hours of the listing and eBay did not react in time to let the police take action. The camera has now disappeared, thanks to the inaction eBay.

here is the item.

Item number: 110863617712

My camera , some unknown house ... I know know where the seller lives , but too late.

The seller still trades on ebay and is walking the streets free.

I on the other hand, have a 2000 GBP fine to pay before August 20th this year , so jail looks very likely as I cannot do my work without that camera thanks in part to eBay.
