Recommend a tool to transfer sales data from eBay to Quickbooks
Mar 21, 2012 07:26 AM

Hi,

We use Quickbooks 2009 Pro edition and having to spend a lot of time entering data into QB by hand which is resulting in a lot of extra work for our team which, if not accurately entered, can result in additional problems.

Can someone recommend a application that transfers the data in a very intuitive way? Like something very basic? I know there are a lot of products out there that do this so I'm looking for recommendations. (I know QB has an application which I have looked in to but would like to know about alternates).

Thank you,

_Ethan

Depending on your volume and how much detail you need, the old eBay Accounting Assistant works.

Sales, and PayPal payments & fees seem to transfer well.

Shipping paid, refunds, purchases on eBay need personal attention.

eBay fees transfer in as a monthly total (if you get a credit after the closing date it does not show).

It is free.

Downside is it has NEVER been supported or updated since it's release in about 2006.

Finding a copy is tough. I keepa copy in archive just in case.

Last I tried you cannot upload transactions into the old accounting assistant any longerX-(

Intuit is working on a program right now which is offered in the ebay apps (at $12 a month:_|).  The program still needs a lot of work though (I have actually been in contact with the developer several times)

There are many ways to get the transactions into quickbooks such as the Paypal iiF files but these just enter as deposits with no detail etc...  I am hoping the new intuit program will adjust inventory as transactions transfer to QB which is something they are working toward now.

I use eBay Accounting Assistant (EAA) every day. As I stated earlier, there are some downsides but it works for my business.

I backup my EAA data every day to a removalble storage disk and keep a copy of the EAA program on a CD. When my hard drive crashed, I installled a new copy of EAA and and copied the last data backup to the new hard drive. I continued on as if nothing happened. It's a little more complicated, but I didn't have to start from scratch.

eBay "ended" EAA two years ago, but it still works as before. I will be at eBay On Location the end of May and expect to ask if there is any reason that EAA access to the data will be shut off.

Thanks for the info but I'm a bit confused sorry:|

I still have the program as well but how do you upload transactions to it now? I was using it up till about May of last year then started getting errors when trying to upload.:(

My bookkeeper is having the hardest time transfering info sales & expenses into Quickbooks. We try to transfer from Paypal not Ebay & so much has to be manual. Any suggestions? I look all over the web & really haven't found a solution that would work for us. Thanks

I believe that most sellers' bookkeepers complain about paypal reporting and reconciliation.

I have an easy-to-use software to solve the problem that is currently in private beta. It actually makes Paypal reconcile 100% and has a lot of time-saving features.

If you are interested in using the software as a beta user, please contact me and I will set you up.

Please include your email address when you message me so that I can set you up right away with an invitation code.
