Myself and many other sellers are done with ebay. No promotion and NO protection for small sellers anymore! Payment for an auction was not received and when action was taken the buyer responded BUT NOT WITH PAYMENT. THEREFORE EBAY SAYS SINCE THEY RESPONDED WITH AN EMAIL THAT IS ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO. NEVER RECEIVED PAYMENT....NO HELP FROM EBAY! other problems too! MANY OF US ARE TIRED OF SELLERS GETTING A BAD DEAL...IF THERE ARE NO SELLERS THEN.......NO BUYERS...

Ebay is worthless now as a seller and a buyer. I do not sell anymore here. Maybe buy off and on. Mostly high priced junk is what I find here. with shipping the garbage costs more than if I just go to a store. Special items are almost non existent.

This is so true. I am having a situation where my ad states insurance required on all purchases. Ebay took this off of their invoice options. I didn't realize that just because they removed it, I couldn't charge for the insurance which is only $1.75. The Buyer complained in a very nasty way with several emails. I suggested to the Buyer we mutually agree to cancel the transaction. Buyer emails me and says no. (all of this over a $9.99 item, lol). I opened a resolution claim and since he didn't agree, they closed the claim and tell me to send the package. I do NOT want to deal with this Buyer. He has already left 5 negative feedbacks to other Sellers. Ebay treats Sellers awful and they are the ones making them money. Paypal charges me a fee on the shipping and insurance costs. This is totally not right.

I have been with eBay since 1997. I have never written on any of these but tonight I am because I am ticked. I had 7 items on tonight and making good money and since no one could bid the last two hours due to something wrong with eBay I have lost money. You know how buyers bid up to that last second. I think eBay should refund our fees for the auctions for sellers whose auctions ended tonight durning this mess. I also agree that eBay has favored the buyers now. Why can't sellers leave negative fb for buyers. Makes so sense. I get new ebay buyers and a lot never pay and I can't leave fb to warn other sellers. And I also agree with no insurance anymore, Why? So what I do is add 1.75 as a handling charge if I think I am selling an item that the buyer may insure, just to cover myself. The other thing I don't like is the buyer is only allowed to use Pay Pal and not M.O. checks, like they use to. That is stupid! There are a lot of people who don't like ebay. My son is a computer wiz and I told him if I ever win the lottery that we would start up another online auction and make it so good that people will leave ebay, dream on, huh? Because I do enjoy selling online.

roxannepool@yahoo.com - let me know if you ever do start another online auction - I'm with you! This is very disturbing that ebay is down tonite. This is one of us Seller's busiest times! We should all receive compensation for the losses we are suffering!!

I use The sellers resource (SSB) for my auctions, I pay 7.00 a month and they bill every 3 months. I am very happy with them so I emailed them and asked if I could still use them with other online auctions and I got an email back right away from support and she said yes. Go to their home page and on the left is a list of other auctions. So I thought I would try ioffer.com. So I am researching them right now. You can look at my auctions on jinraye and see the layout for SSB. Last night I also read articles on ebay and how they are loosing sellers. Down 13% but eBay seems not to really care or worried about it. The new CEO starts this March. I agree with you about last night. I had on a pair of True Religion jeans and I know I could have gotten more money for them. Jinny

I have looked at all the other online auction sites and they are a joke compared to ebay believe me. If sellers are not getting sales or exposure here it will not be better on any other auction site. The thing is with so many users and a dominant control of the online auction market you would think Ebay would be in more control of things but they are still in such an experimental stage. If there was an auction site near as good as Ebay i would be using it believe me. I love from a buyers viewpoint how Ebay makes buying both smart and easy since anyone can become a search guru using the site and each purchase with Paypal is secure. Then when we look from the sellers standpoint we realize that behind the scenes(what the buyer doesnt see) is that Ebay does not support sellers well at all when compared to other sites. Not only can i not leave buyers negative feedback or warn other sellers about problems but no longer can i leave buyers strikes after they don't pay. These past few months Ebay has been showing what they really care about and none of it includes the seller.

Yeah, I don't know what it will take to get eBay off their high horse and support the sellers. Like one person said here, without us (sellers, no buyers.)eBay has gotten so big that it is difficult for anyone else to have an online auction. But if they keep loosing sellers maybe down the road they will wise up. Jinny

I am with you. There are just too many problems and issues not addressed. I'm tired of all the fees, so if I can't at least list free(which would be better for Ebay and myself) then I'll list else where, and we'll all be happy.

A few months back, Ebay felt the dollar numbers going down, so the offered a "List any item at any price-FREE" promotion. The dollars went back up, so they took it away. They only understood, or "GOT IT" for a moment. "WHEN WILL THEY EVER LEARN".Hhmmm. I think I will write that song.

I believe another site is about come alive this year that will bust Ebay wide open, and will offer free listings with many free options that ebay charges for--knowing that there is more profit from sales, rather than gouging the sellers. Also, look for many upsets in the Ebay management corperate world. Some of the top CEO's here have grown ignorant, and need to go.

I agree, can't sell a thing here no matter what it is, i almost launched an ebay busineess but did not becuase thee fees are almost as bad as a second income tax, having 10 percent or more of my gross eaten away, kept me from doing so. I made my own website to get rid of stuff i did not want. You have no way of promoting the sales either that doens't cost a fortune.

After 15 years with ebay I am done. Ebay not only protects deadbeat buyers, it AIDS them in stealing and scamming. 100% positive feedback means nothing. Ahole buyers are free to do as they please, at will, with no penalty. But why would that be a surprise. ebay might lose a sale commission, Heaven forbid! Sellers are totally helpless between ebays do-nothing attitude and Paypuke's automatic refund krap..... Going, going, gone!

I just ended my listings earlier with ebay. I have been a customer since 1999 have 100 positive feedback and they still are holding my funds.
Last straw. Sold and item on saturday shipped it monday, buyer got it on the 25th a Wed. and left positive feed back for me. My funds are still being held till May 4.
I called ebay and they said in the next two hours funds will be release and it has now been four hours and item still shows funds released May 4.
Bye Ebay and Paypal, you treat me bad and I find somewhere else to sell my goods and you get nothing.
You wont be in business much longer acting like this.

Doesn't ebay read these posts? Why are sellers repeatedly hung out to dry? I've had a pretty good ebay business going for years but ebay keeps looking for more ways to cut into my profit. Final value fees on SHIPPING? Are they kidding me? I try to sell items for a fair price and ship for actual cost. With ebay's new fees, the costs exceed what the shipping calculator collects and I have never charged handling fees. Buyers think you are gouging them if you do, so I don't. So, where is the extra money that you are digging out of me going, ebay? I haven't seen an ebay add on TV for more than 3 years.

Here's my experience. I ordered a replacement print cartridge from eBay and forgot about it. The item never arrived. I received an email from eBay requesting feedback 53 days later (March 31, 2013 to Feb 6, 2013). I followed the links and selected "item not received" and was directed to contact the seller. I did this, and the seller never replied. Another week went by. Then I went back to the "give feedback page" and was now told case closed, too much time has elapsed. I spent a couple of hours trying to talk to eBay and was told they will not give me the seller contact information or help in any way. Done with eBay!
