eBay,

I sick and tired of the new way eBay is marketing ads to big time sellers.

10 years I've been buying on eBay aand I'm just about through with the B.S.

As an example, I look up parts for a 1969 Rambler there are 300 ads for car antennas and mufflers that do not even relate to 1969 Ramblers.

You are running catagory after catagory with all this junk.

Or the same seller multi listing 100 set of engine bearing shells.

At some point you guys need to start cleaning up these over listed, bogus parts listing.

But I'm sure you plan to do nothing about it, since your selling space to the sellers.

At some point in the near future all the buyers are going to get feed up with all the junk and just quit buying all together.

Greed on your part will ultimately be your demise.

AGREED! Every day I see hundreds of new ads listed for an auction I saved a search for, a 1967 Toronado. There are now more than 2000 listings in this auction, only a few of which are related to this vehicle. I certainly wouldn't consider listing an item here if it's only going to be buried among the spam..

You are right on target. Even worse is the fact that ebay is no longer ebay it has become a retail outlet and not an auction. I have bought and sold items for more than 10 years. When I first joined, you could bid on an item and you could always get out bid at the end. As the years went by, there were less and less items put up for auction - an auction ( for ebay's information) is where the byers set the price not the sellers with the BS title of buy it now. Give me a break. All that ebay has done is to give you no charge if you acutally do what ebay did best which was to be an auction. I am really sick of this situation. ebay has lost its uniqueness and I am giving up and will not return until they go back to being an auction and not a retail store with fixed prices. Tis sad.

Tom, I couldn't agree with you more!
I too am getting very tired of looking at a hundred adds all for the same part and some not even pertaining to what we are looking for. These vendors spend a lot of money advertising so you are probably right about e-bay not doing anything about it. I think that there should be a vendors only area for adds like this. I used to search all the way through a certain area but now I get tired of scrolling or paging down to see what I am lookinfg for

I am SICK and TIRED of FeeBay redirecting me to their listing promotions EVERY time I try to go to My eBay for th first time each day.
FeeBay thinks they hold us captive and can dictate how we pay and what we have to read before they allow us the privilege of buying; that's why Amazon will kick Feebay's butt and its another reason to use FeeBay less and less.

If Whitman can do for California what she did here, that state may as well fall into the ocean tomorrow

You know eBay must be hard up for revenue when sponsored ads at the top of the page are for life insurance and muscle building supplement. What do they have to do with auctions?

I've been buying and selling on eBay since 1999 and it's really sad to see it sink so low.

I Agree. Ebay needs to Dump the Trash. I'd even pay a monthly or even yearly fee to have all ebay adds removed. It's annoying and distracting. On top of that ebay must think you're too dumb to decide for yourself how and what you search for. The only thing worse than politcians in this world is advertisers!

OMG, I am so with you on this! I'm posting negative reaction and negative interest to every ad that comes up now. It makes me so angry, I'm looking for alternatives to ebay. And the real ebay Sellers wonder why their sales are down!

I agree with everyone. I hate when I'm at home and everything is quiet and I click on "myebay" and what do I hear "HELLO" from one of those silly emoticons at the top of the page. I want to find a micro sd card for my cell phone, I have to stroll thru 200 sd micro plastic case that one seller has listed. That is a big joke eBay

We do pay monthy fees. eBay is slipping in the quality they provide. They are getting too commercial and greedy. It used to be about buyers and sellers. Now it is about ads (BAdChoice) and we are put in the back seat. Wake up eBay and bring the quality back. They are based in Kalifornia, so quality is a subjective thing there.

I have become INCREASINGLY irratated with the multiple ROBO ads in many categories. There are hundreds of ads for exactly the same thing. For example I looked up Toyota Solara, and found literally hundreds of ads for bright headlight bulbs, literally hundreds of the same ad from the same Seller. There is so much of this repetative ads/auctions that it makes finding what you're looking for almost impossible! In some respects, I've given up on looking to Ebay for certain things. I thought there was a rule limiting the number of same ads, but apparently there lots of ways to get around this. Ebay is killing itself by allowing this because it discourages buyers from looking through hundreds of the same thing! In some categories I follow, I go thru and eliminate all the Sellers who do this. In one case, it reduced the number of ads/auctions in the category by 60+%! That is 60% I don't have to scroll thru to find what I want. It is getting very discouraging.

Tom,
You are right on target. I like to buy from private sellers and have to go thru page after page of commercial sellers. I used to be able to find lots of private sellers but now they are hard to find. I do not list items anymore as they get LOST in all the commercial adds. I don't understand why a seller has to post 100 adds for the same thing. There should be seperate sections for commercial and private sellers. I have used Ebay for over 12 years and was on it almost everyday. Now I only log in once a month or so. I wish there was a direct way to reach Ebay as I doubt they read these posts. I have had better success selling on Craigslist. I can also find stuff easier just by Googleing it. I think Ebays days are numbered if they don't go back to their roots. Everyday people bidding on auctions with no BUY IT NOW or Best Offer.

New ebay ceo's suck!!
To make themselves look good to the company they must increase profits, understandable.
But all they do is increase seller fees and tell sellers we're saving money when they impose new fees,BS!
Then when you ask them to show you how you can save money with the new fees you don't get an answer.
Starting to wonder if this could be the next class action lawsuit!
I think everyone should print out the email you got from ebay. Ebay has stated this is going to save sellers money but won't show us how, why? Because its really false advertising!
Here is ebays quote,"Fee update
FREE to list Auction-style—any start price—plus FREE Buy It Now for sellers without a Store subscription. Final Value Fees updated to reward low-cost shipping for all sellers".
1st."FREE to list auction style".BS.you have to close your store to get free auction style listings!
2nd. "Free "buy it now" for sellers without store". Wouldn't you think premier members should get this?BS again!
3rd."Final Value Fees updated to reward low-cost shipping for all sellers". Biggest pile of BS yet!! Ebay if you think we see this as a reward you really must think were all stupider than your silly ass reps and ceo's.Buyers are not stupid either. They do know that the new fees must be made up somehow. ( I guess the ceo's that are college grads with masters degrees couldn't do the math) It really makes you look like big jokes and it has damaged ebays reputation!
New ebay reps and ceo's use deception to inflate ebays profits! Like the company is going under!
At least when Meg was around we didn't get lied to.
THAT IS WHAT REALLY PISSES PEOPLE OFF!!!
BE THE PROFESSIONALS U R SUPPOSED TO BE AND QUIT THE STUPID LIES!
Not to mention what they've done to the feedback system, dsr's, refund policies, not helping sellers in any way with undeserved feedback. I've seen so many people with undeserved negs now it's just crazy.
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY ARE DOING NOW?
PROBABLY FIGURING OUT WHEN AND HOW TO CHARGE US FOR THE NEW SHOPPING CART!
Good luck to all and may some wisdom and compassion fall on ebay corp!

I did the same thing on 1973 gto. You wouldn't think there would be much right?
Well according to the new ebay search chevy nova parts will fit.
The new search is made for "top rated sellers" no matter how good of a match it is to your search terms.
I agree this makes things harder to find on ebay but how can we get it through to ebay?
Can't!
Their all about money now not people!

I have to agree with you all the way on this topic. I have been a loyal ebay power seller and buyer for many years. They have slowly went down hill. They have no concern or care for the seller. AND WITHOUT SELLERS WHO NEEDS BUYERS??? WAKE UP YOU BUNCH OF MONEY GRUBBERS AND GET THINGS BACK ON TRACK. I have quit buying and selling until somthing changes!!People just need to quit, then we will see who wins!

Actually you can set specific searches that are filtered to only come up what you are looking for. you can add words, or get it to block words in the search. You can even set your price range, category to getting exactly what you are looking for.
