So lets continue the spirit of the old thread and help each other save money. :)

Here is my collection of The Goodlife Cat food trays. There are about 40 of them and I am rounding them up for Pumpkin. She eats 2 a day. I have got them all with the $1/1 coupons and scored them all for free. I have 40 more coming in and I am bidding on 40 more. I also have 70 $1.50/1 coupons too. At 77 cents a tray this is a HUGE HUGE savings for me. I am trying to get a 3 month supply for her. Photobucket Also at target the $1/1 coupons are ringing up at 1.00 even tho the trays cost 77 cents each. Today I took 10 coupons in (I am buying them 10 at a time) and I have 2.30 overage so I got a gallon of milk for 2.79. I walked out paying 49 cents for my milk. :) Thats cheaper then Aldi's 99 cent milk. the $1.50/1 coupons are beeping at the register and they scale those down to 77 cents. my guess is if it is over a dollar, it red flags. But no matter, I am still getting them for free. :)

I just realized I have had a CVS Extra Care card for a couple of years and I never got any money for it though I buy meds there as well as some other things. Am I not getting money just because i don't ask for it?

I would call Corporate or try scanning your card at the red kiosk and see what happens.

NICE, NICE picture of your cat food trays, Mari! I'll bet lil Pumpkin is so happy! :-x

Well, we're off for our Caturday rounds. Hope you all have a great day!

Scan that Extra card @ CVS and it will probably print out coupons. We've just switched a few pres. to Target, much cheaper, plus a $10 coupon to transfer.

Just got back a few moments ago from snagging a few end of the week bargains. VERY few though. :( The VERY best one was Fancy Feast at Target for .32 compared to .57 at our usual pet supply store. Tobias will be sooooo very happy with his cuisine. :) He won't eat anything else. :O Talk about a forer skinny stray making huge demands. LOL I've got my hoomans trained, he smirks proudly. NIGHT ALL! Can't wait for the morning! :)

What about making a Ebay group..?

So we can't post any links here anymore?

I need some instruction on Rite Aid Up dollars. Is this used the same as WAGs dollars? I got about 16 Up dollars today and now i need to figure this out. I have stayed away from RA since I could usually get what i wanted at WAGs but there was some good deals today so ventured out!

it's been cold and SNOWY here today... Sitting in front of the fireplace now. AHHHHH. If I could get some that grandma's spice tea, all would good. :)

Stores here limit quantities you can buy with a coupon. If I went in with 20, they would only let me use one. Tonight I did pick up 4 packs of Activia on sale for $1.89 and the store had $1 off coupons there. I don't mind paying .89 for a 4 pack of something I use regularly.

The e-Bay interest group might be a good idea. You have the option of having it open where anyone can see it and join or closed. It might be a good thing.

Sunny, I hope you feel better soon.

Here is a recipe for my grandmothers spice tea. It feels good on the throat and keeps your chest warm.

In a big pot fill half with water and bring to a boil.
Steep 2 family size tea bags for 10 minutes on low then remove bags
add 1 can of concentrate apple juice
2 cups of Honey (I just use the whole bottle)
2 cinnamon sticks
5 cloves
raise heat to medium and let simmer 10 minutes
Keep on low all day and enjoy.

Makes the house smell good too. :)

Oh this sounds heavenly! Thanks for posting this!

I'm enjoying reading about other ideas for saving money, even though we don't have coupons here. We do use soup occasionally for food prep.

One thing I have done is wait for the store brand to go on sale for 50 cents a can or such. Then we buy a case and get the store's 10% discount for buying a full case.

Aggiemom 50 cents for a can of soup is a good deal :) If I sent you some coupons, could you use them?

Hi All, Hope everyone has a great day today.

Sunny, how did your shopping go yesterday?

Hi styles!!!

Good Morning Mari and all you great super couponers!

Our shopping trip was somewhat of a disappointment. I just haven't been too motivated last week and wasn't really prepared. What we did find a lot was empty spaces at Target where the merchandise was already sold. LOL.

We've had to revert back to our usual grocery shopping habits because couponing and stockpiling just isn't working around here. I really don't like the idea of waiting until we run out of something and then running out and getting it at full price - but oh well. That's how we lived for years ....

I still use coupons, but we can't super coupon where food is concerned. :O But, the good news is that I can still super coupon at Target, CVS and Walgreens for the items I use!

Oh Sunny, it saddens me to see that you can't stock pile groceries. You just spend so much more when you can't grab it on sale with a coupon. But you do what you gotta do.

Maybe you can pick and choose what to stock pile. Like foods for meals such as soups and veggies. I just really hate to see you spend more then you have to. :(

Oh btw, our washer died yesterday. The thing is 12 years old and every time we fix something, something else breaks. So we bit the bullet and went to a used appliance store and bought a used washer. Its a 2 yo high efficiency whirlpool cabrio washer. New its 800 dollars. Used it is 400 but we got it on sale at 50% off so we paid 222 for it. :) Im cool with that. :)

That's great, Mari, about your washer!

You know that old saying - you can't teach an old dog new tricks. ;) I could go on and on with the couponing/food failures here, but you get the idea! Let's just say - he is twice the person he was last year - thanks for trying to stockpile. :^O :^O

Another good thing is I know what to do and how to do it now - thanks to this thread!!! I'm still working it for grocery items I use - as well as my personal items from the drug stores! :)

Hey thats a good idea Sunny. Stock pile your food and Rick can get his own. :) LOL :)

Honestly tho my sister coupons but doesn't stock pile food either unless she can get it for free or nearly free. If she is paying more then 40 cents a can for veggies or soup on sale with a coupon it isn't worth it to her because she doesn't have the room. Due to the recession both her sons have moved back home. they all have jobs but all are in sales and that is a TOUGH career right now. She says she still saves about 30%. ANY savings is a good savings. :)

Happy Sunday! Just got back from the rounds. Sunny, I was going to ask if storage was the issue but I think I figured it out lol.

I almost have the opposite problem. With only my son and I home stuff isn't being used quickly enough! I have to nag him to eat up certain things lol.

I am rebuilding my stock after donating almost all my HBA stuff at Christmas. Picked up free toothpastes today (after ecbs) at CVS, a couple of toothbrushes and I have enough batteries now for a few years. Meijer has chunky soup for .99 so that makes for some cheap soup after coupons! Limit is 12 but I only had enough coupons to get 10 this round. Also got my free Orbit gum at CVS :)

I am so annoyed at myself though! Rookie mistake and it cost me $10. I put 10 Bestlife spreads in my cart for the pantry, checked out and totally forgot to take the coupons out of my pouch! I am chalking it up to karma, and giving a little back to make up for all the other free stuff I get at Meijer lol. Lesson learned, pay attention while shopping!

I got a new coupon organizer from E t s y and I love it! So much easier to carry around than a binder or filebox.

Now it's time to clean and do laundry :)

slw: can you take the receipt and the coupons back to the store and get them credited? I've done that a time or two.

I left an 18 pk Charmin at the store....$10 mistake....Oh well, crap happens.

I'm pretty stocked right now, but will pick up a few things this week. Our only child is coming home for a visit, so I have a busy week!

Furry, I probably could push the issue but have decided that I'm not going to. It was my stupid mistake, and I have taken Meijer for a lot of free stuff in the last several months with all my coupons. I have to give them money once in a while :^O

As far as today's coupon inserts:

I didn't like them at all. The P&G brand saver was absolutely miserable with me not wanting to buy a lot of any of the coupons in there.

But last weeks inserts were among the best I have seen in a while.

G'Mornin' All,

Yesterday I bought three double stuffed papers. In the second set, there were no coupons. I was HOT and ready to call someone this morning but the last set had 3 extra sets So I have 7 inserts instead of 6 :)

There is a question posed on one of the coupon sites, how much do you spend to save? That got me thinking. Now that I have my food storage, do I really need to get 3 double stuffed papers? I am going to better track the coupons I use from the paper and the coupons that I buy on line. I think it might be cheaper for me to just get one paper so that I will have the coupons on hand and then if there is a super coupon that I can really use, buy it from a clipping service. The cat food coupons that I have been buying, I have spent about 14 dollars but have bought more then 120 coupons (I haven't used them all yet and still waiting to receive 40) I am buying so many because this is something I would like to stock up about 3 months worth for Pumpkin which means I will need about 180 trays since I feed her 2x a day... and she has discovered she likes to eat. :) She's a piggy. :) So now I guess I need to figure how much I am truly spending compared to how much I am truly saving. :)

What about you guys? Do you know how much you spend to save?

Morning All!

Has everyone checked out the Krazy Coupon Lady this week? Outstanding deals!

Mari - Excellent post! So far, I've only spent 3.00 a week by buying 2 newspapers every Sunday - plus ink refills and paper. Still haven't bid on anything. I have a perfect buying record and don't want to let that get messed up for any reason. The unknown has me kind of scared, but those Goodlifes really are too good to pass up.
