If I ship using E-Bay shipping the tracking information will be available for a customer service rep to see if a dispute arises as non-receipt of the item purchased? Can I assume that E-Bay's customer support will look at the tracking and advise the Buyer in a case where the item is in transit.?

I am particularly concerned with the 3 day timeline expressed in the FAQ's. Shipping from our location in Georgia to the west coast via our preferred carrier, UPS, is pretty much guaranteed to take a week or more to get to the buyer. Will this be considered?

As a buyer, I am not thrilled to have to learn a new dispute process all over again, but this proposal certainly has some key aspects form a buyer's perspective. being able to talk to someone is good, and the short time line is good. That being said, i hope most buyers realize tha shipping transit times do vary with weather, choice of carrier, location of sender and recipient, and probably other factors too.

I am sure eBay customer support will have access to online-viewable tracking if the seller has used it, and will work claims with reasonableness.

Hi southernprofessionalart,

If you are using PayPal's label printing solution or if you have manually uploaded tracking or delivery confirmation number; this information will be available to Customer support Reps.

If the item was shipped promptly and is in transit the Customer support Reps will advice the buyer accordingly.

In June we are launching eBay's label printing solution. If you use this product, tracking information will be automatically added.

Thanks!

I'm sure anar@ebay.com will correct me if I'm wrong but the way that reads is, 3 days in addition to the USPS estimated delivery time.

Correct?

Hi elecgreg,

You are correct! 3 days duration is used as a guideline.

Thanks!

If the item was shipped promptly

What does Ebay consider promptly?

What does Ebay consider promptly?

I'm going to assume that this means within their stated handling time in the listing.

But 3 days is not sufficient for most surface services. And USPS is especially overly optimistic regarding Media Mail

Hi plentycosas123,

We calculate estimated delivery time based on seller's specified handling time and the estimated times provided to us by the shipping service. Delivery estimates are calculated as a range of days, not a specific date. For more details, please go to the link below.
