Oh yeah, I love NCIS too! I have a doll here that I think would make a good Ziva too. Would be fun to make the whole team, but where would you find a Jethro?? hi Shirley, uh-oh, oops, sorry i forgot to answer
yes her arm goes around in a circle to make her taller with "bosom" or shorter flat-chested. some kind of squishy skin over a plastic form that moves up and down, weird.
someone gave her to me and she is thin enough to fit in the Star Trek sweater, so there she lives.

Thank you Twang. I never had an interest in picking her up for my collection, but when i read that about her, I changed my mind Then I saw you had one and wanted to know how the world she 'works'. I like to add Barbies that have 'gimmicks'. But, since i have parting with quite a few dolls, I have also parted with some of the more modern dolls that also had some gimmick about them. Just can't keep them all Music touches every key of memory, and stirs all the hidden springs of sorrow and joy; we love it for what it makes us forget, and for what it makes us remember.~~L.E. Landon

Enjoy away, Twanger! I still have a few more boxed Barbies that I want to part with. Trying to get down to a 'reasonable' number of dolls; whatever 'reasonable' is I just decided that I had too many. Period. I look at completed listings to check for values because I figure that sales here gives a good ballpark figure. I generally take an average price of all that have sold for a particular doll. What I hate, is finding that one high sale price and then saying to myself, "Nope, can't sell that one!" I just checked CL again tonite for Tangerine Twist and Sound of Music Barbies. I figure now that I can safely part with those 2 as obviously they aren't that hot of a doll to keep around. It is kind of funny that at the time you buy them, you think they are so neat and then after you have them a while, it's like, why did I ever buy that?? Always entertain the idea of deboxing; keeping the doll or the outfit. Already have lots of loose dolls and tons of clothes. In the last 2 years I have sold (not here)well over 200 loose dolls and around 35-40 boxed. Still have 240 loose dolls and 127 boxed!! I always wonder how many dolls other people have and will ask(like my friend) and never get an answer, ha! I figure then, they must think they have too many as well Music touches every key of memory, and stirs all the hidden springs of sorrow and joy; we love it for what it makes us forget, and for what it makes us remember.~~L.E. And clothing!! How does one end up with so many clothes?? I still have a ton of clothing after having sold all those loose dolls with a complete outfit!! drives me nuts! And ALL the assessories that accumulate! + Furniture, vehicles, books, houses, pets,.....it takes a lot of space and time, whew! I have parted with some of that stuff too and that doll room is still FULL Music touches every key of memory, and stirs all the hidden springs of sorrow and joy; we love it for what it makes us forget, and for what it makes us remember.~~L.E. same here. i keep one bin for extras that i will use to redress and try to do at least one thing each day and focus on whittling down my round-TUITS.
clothes or dolls that i don't want to use i put in a separate bin "someday" i'll list or thrift in batches.
and i purposely avoid bidding on LOT auctions, there's just too much in those, and unused stuff would end up becoming unneeded clutter.
i'd much rather play than fix up.
am really liking the vintage calico i've accumulated

I know what you mean. A lot of items I don't buy anymore, and like you, stay away from lots. But, that is hard to do when you find them and they are right in front of you I would rather play with my things instead of sort, fix, and prep for selling. I think what my problem was when first began collecting, is I bought everything without a real focus in mind. Now I know what it is I want and DON'T want.
I have seen your calico prints and I like those too. I see a later Midge sitting in the chair. I have her and intend on keeping her. Any Midges I have, I am keeping. She got the boot pretty early and was absent for quite a few years before bringing her back, so I like the time-line collection i have of her. Carolyn--Love your Midge and Ken! I always knew Ken had feelings for Midge. When i was a kid and played with my dolls, Ken was always seeing Midge on the sly I too, like the Scottish outfit you made for your Ken! Right now on display I have a blonde vintage Midge in Senior Prom and vintage Ken in his tux, as a couple.
touchdowns--Midge makes a beautiful Bride and Alan looks pretty cool in the tux. I note that he has straight-forward looking eyes and not the side eye. You have a pretty Midge. Some Midges looked pretty wonky. Barbie looks beautiful too! Sometimes I have a hard time discerning a #3 vs #4.
Hi Twang--You are welcome. Midge looks good in her dress.
Yay for all Midges Music touches every key of memory, and stirs all the hidden springs of sorrow and joy; we love it for what it makes us forget, and for what it makes us remember.~~L.E. Landon
