Hello, please, can someone help me to identify this Teddy bear?

The Teddy is 42 cm high, have 5 joints, with little hump, no marks and tags. The matherial is mohair, gray-beige, stuffing is wood shavings. Paw pads are cotton. Eyes are red-brown plastic, all paws have embroidered 3 claws with black i think cotton yarn. Nose is embroidered with horizontal stitches with same yarn. Final seam is on back.

Thank you.

Hi Araxna,

He shares a lot of characteristics with Hermann bears, although I am not 100% sure that's who made him. There are quite a number of teddy bear manufacturers in the same area and this could be an imitator. His ears and profile are what make me wonder if he might just be similar. Hermann still makes bears. His plastic eyes are a tip-off that he is not pre-WWII. Because he is stuffed with wood shavings, he could be circa 1960. It's strange that this is the third bear of this type posted on this board recently (maybe they come in threes, lol).

Yes, i think of Hermann too, but plastic eyes, cotton pads and not curved hands make me doubt. But whose may it be?

Thank you for answer.

Most manufactured bears had plastic eyes after a certain date which doesn't come to mind because of child safety issues - the picture posted is so large I couldn't actually see the bear - can you use the paper clip attachment on the posting page to attach a full sized photo and the photo you already posted in a size easier to see?

When I responded before I was at work and couldn't get to my books. Now I'm home and I found a twin to your bear in Linda Mullins' "Teddy Bears & Friends," (black cover). Your bear matches up nicely with a Clemens. She says that the Hans Clemens company was founded in 1947, location Kirchardt/Baden, Germany.  She values the one that looks like yours at $300-350 USD.
