Question about Burberry Bear

I have a Burberry Bear that is still in its original bag. I think it is at least 10 years old, maybe more. It has a tag with an item number. Is there any way to research the year it was made, or any other information, by using the item number?

The bear is plaid --- I think it is the Burberry "Nova Check" pattern.
There is a Macy's sticker on the bottom of the plastic bag.

IS the manufacturer of the bear mentioned on the tag - like Russ Berrie maybe? You might be able to find the information through the manufacturer.

Good suggestion. I hadn't thought of that. There is what I assume to be a manufacturer's name on a little tag on the side of the bear. Maybe I can find out something from that.
