Hi, so I put this on the miniatures board, and then got to thinking that maybe I should bring the Steiff Archie question to this board.
Anyone remember/know of Archie?
thanks !

Hi,
Way back when (possibly in the 1980's) , I "helped" my mother (Barbara Haviland, of The Enchanted Dollhouse in Manchester, Vermont) do a miniatures show in Boston. It may have been a N.A.M.E. show. My memory is incomplete on the exact details, as it is on a lot of things these days!
At this show she had some Mary Hoot animals for sale and it ended up she gave me 2 little rabbits with a hutch that I still have today. Sometimes I see some of these little animals for sale on ebay, but they come up rarely. I wondered where is Mary Hoot today. She use to have a listing on the internet, but I don't see it anymore.
I have a Nutshell News from April 1991. If anyone has this, a Mary Hoot goose can be seen on page 55.
Also, at this show in Boston, there was a dollhouse in the competition section that was very tall and (what impressed me most) was that it had a cellar/basement ! I've since been looking for a furnace/boiler (not modern), or how to make one. I wondered if anyone had been to this show and could tell me about the dollhouse.
I would ask my mother if I could, but she died in 2000, far too early at age 72. The Enchanted Dollhouse was sold after my mother retired and has since gone out of business. I always wondered what happened to the 6 foot tall Steiff "Archie" bear that stood greeting people at the front door.
Maybe people here can ask other people in the miniature world about these things and let me know.
Thanks!
