Apparently, every thread that approaches 10,000 posts is pared down. On another board, I found this number:
"105903 of 114475" was the first post.
The obvious solution is to start and pin a new thread after every 8000 or so posts. Pretty soon, we can have the entire front page filled with pinned posts and the rest of the board reserved for the class clowns.
