Re: Ask any question about any book Part II

Thank you. Trying to find out the year of a series of 10 volumes of Dickens books. They are the Carton Edition - states on the cover. Also, The art preservative of all arts. I can't find a publishing date but it's Caston publishing. Thank you for any info. Would something like this be better sold as a set if it's worth selling? Each book seems to be a different Dickens novel.

Does the Dickens group have a publisher's name?

Regarding the set of 10 volumes of Dickens books. I have looked at various sites on the internet, but can't find any like this. It is Caxton Publishing. The edition I think is Carton edition. The covers are brown, not green. Thank you.

I don't know if you're looking for one or are trying to value a copy you already have. Either way, this is a scholarly, university press book and I would expect the market to price it somewhere between $25 -$40, being an obscure study on the efficacy of priests and laypeople as development managers in rural South America.

It was published in 2006, so whoever originally bought it (at publication) will have it for a time (it's not a text book but may have been used as a supplementary source for a class).

Contact the publisher through this link and you should be able to locate a copy. There may be a South American POD scum who'll print you a copy, but they may want as much as 3 figures. Stick with the publisher.

If you can't read Spanish, use the Google translation button.

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me with this old book. I've been unable to find any available online like it that I can learn from... I'm not sure what it is... I'd like to know keywords I should use to list it & hopefully a ballpark starting bid...

"Missale Versaliense jussu Ill. et Rev. DD. Episcopi Versaliensis, Denuo Typis Mandatum" 1847.

Seems to be latin, Holy Mass verses, possibly Episcopalian. I've run some of the Latin to English translations, but the translators are not very helpful.

It's a handsome folio, leather, in nice shape.

Most of the text is pretty large font size... I'm assuming it was read from in Church services.

I'd be happy to post pictures if it would help.

THANKS!

scscgirl20 - you have a Catholic Missal, use of Versailles, probably printed at Paris. Does the title imprint say, "Lutetiæ Parisiorum?"

THANKS for your help! I hate to sound stupid, but I don't know what the "title imprint" means... I don't see "lutetiae Parisiorum" anywhere, though.

It is from Paris I believe... "se vend aussi a Paris, chez l. Hatchette... et chez tous les librairies du diocese de Versailles".

Here's the title page... maybe that'll help... there's a coat of arms type thing "in labore requies" that I tried to track down, so far unsuccessfully.

The coat of arms is simply the Printer's Mark; "in labore requies" is the motto of this particular Press - "in labour, find rest," more properly read, "in labour is fulfillment."

What is the difference between a Missale Versaliense and a Missale Romanum?

Can someone please give me an idea of what this book is worth worth 2 signatures? One is of Cici Huston and the other is on the author Lawrence Grobel.

Much appreciated.

I still haven't found out anything about the 10 Volumes Dickens the Carton Edition, the Art preservative of all arts. (states this on the brown cover).
The publisher is Caxton publishing, tribune building, New york illustrations by Barnard. Once volume is Bleak house, one volume is Dombey and son.
Could this be an unauthorized copy of these books? I can't find a copyright or any date anywhere. Are these worth selling? Thank you

Does it say "Carleton" rather than "Carton" Edition?
