On Saturday it's over 96 in the shade here (Northern VA). We don't have an outside thermometer but the office temp is 103. Plus humidity. So ready for a break in this weather.

.

It was quite comfortable this morning, but the mercury's now risen to 73º here.  Back to the mid-sixties later in the day, and back to 60º by tomorrow night.

Now Google the forecast for Tuesday at Furnace Creek, CA.

I grew up in the Catskills where of course the summer weather is much milder than here, but even so we sometimes had hot days. It was a shock to move to North Carolina for university, though!

Here in northern California - about 140+ miles northest of San Francsico - it's hovering around 98 degrees this afternoon. Humidity is not bad. Forecast is for about the same tomorrow and Monday. Then climbing to 100+ plus for at least 3-4 days after that.

Long range forecast is for "cooler" 90's for about a week and then another week of really hot - 102 - 104+ mid-late month.

Oh goody :(

But, it really isn't surprising since it IS July - and it IS summer in this hemisphere.

Stay safe and as cool as possible everyone.

Today was the first day it hasn't been in the mid to upper nineties with 1976% humidity in nearly a week.

I'm not going to complain.  I'll save that for when it is -40° wind-chill and 3 feet of snow.

We COULD use some (lots) of rain, though.

Heat and humidity is par for the course here, too, but it's more like deepest August than early July. This on top of little precipitation means severe stress on plants. Already seeing trees covered with dying yellow leaves.

I meant to say little precipitation over the winter/spring months. There wasn't much water to add to the water table.

Corn and soybean crops are failing across the midwest from lack of rain.

Havin' a heat wave here in the North West; could get all the way up to 75 degrees today!  A bit of snow still visible on mountain tops, usually gone by now.

101°F  with humidity at 36% in Harrisburg, PA.

Tomorrow is to be 93° and by Monday it is to drop to 84°

Just heard a rumble of thunder. Hope it is not just a tease.

Crops are coming in early here because of the very warm spring that we had.

83 on Cape Cod with all the available humidity.

A great day for my in-laws to have a yard sale.  If nothing else I got rid of my last bad large lot purchase.

It's 106 where I'm at near Phoenix which is not unusual. However, the weather on the 4th of July was unusual. For the first time in 26 years, the temperature on that day was under 100 degrees. The high was about 91.
