Seller Dashboard
Aug 10, 2012 07:28 PM

Since its inception I have had nothing but trouble with my seller dashboard [it always-with  two exceptions- states I have no transactions in the last 12 months and no sales since I became a member]. I called eBay on this and the girl said she would get back to me in the next 24 hours [never happened]. I called tonight and the person who responded said the standard for powerseller is $3000 in sales and 100 transactions. Did they raise the standards without announcing it? He also told me I had 80 transactions [correct-I went back and counted them].Twice I have had my seller dashbord actually correct and I have checked it several times a week since its inception. If I never get feedback on my dashboard how am I ever to know what I need to do to get the powerseller discount? I am well above the sales amount.

Sorry I can't help with the problems of your dashboard not showing any sales, but as to the Top Rated Seller requirements, I discovered those myself in October of last year and posted a thread about it:

http://forums.ebay.com/db1/topic/Booksellers/Why-Its-Important/5200035527?#msg5200531603

I think eBay did make a change in their requirements for Top Rated Seller somewhere along the line ... but never told anyone!

The "help" page still says $1000:

kbooks - have you tried signing out and then looking at your dashboard on a different browser?  Just a(nother) thought ...

Powerseller and top rated have seperate qualifications.

Yes, my mistake.

It's the Power Seller requirements that dictate a minimum of $3,000 in sales and a minimum of 100 transactions yearly.

Powerseller used to take $2500 a month. Now you say $3000 per year. Ebay is being dumbed down like everything else in life.

I think the PS level of $2500/month must have been a long time ago. I've been a bonze with a minimum of $1K/month for ages.

Oh, now I see what's going on.

I found this in a June eBay "update"email sent to me.

Also starting June 1, the annual sales requirement for Top-rated status will be lowered from $3,000 to $1,000 to expand eligibility to more sellers who provide great service.

http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/eTRSupdate.html

So when I started that other thread in October, it WAS $3,000 in annual sales ... now it's only $1,000 in annual sales and 100 minimum transactions to be a Top Rated Seller.

Are there even Power Sellers anymore?

Who knows?  eBay keeps changing the rules ...

Kbooks, I think I found out exactly how you can check your total yearly transactions.

First, you have to go to Seller Dashboard under "My Account."

Then, to to Seller Standards and click on the link that says, "See how eBay calculates your discount."

That link will then take you another page telling you your discount.  From that page, you click on "Your seller performance."

That page shows how many transactions you have had in the last year up to the last day of the prior month.

It has a chart format like this:

12 months: Aug 01, 2011 - Jul 31, 2012

Your performance: Top-rated seller

Status Total sales (12-month) $-------  (required: $1,000.00)

Positive Feedback (12-month) 100.00% (required: 98.00%)

Transactions (12-month) 133  (required: 100)

Okay, there are still Power Sellers and, apparently, I still am one.  But eBay no longer puts those little Power Seller icons next to your ID anymore.

Here are the Power Seller requirements:

Be registered with eBay for at least 90 days.

Have an account in good standing.

Maintain a positive Feedback of 98% or higher over the past 12

months.

Follow all eBay policies.

Have a minimum of 100 transactions and $3,000 in sales with US buyers over the past 12 months.

Receive at least a 4.60 average from US buyers across all 4 detailed seller ratings (DSRs).

For all transactions with US buyers, have no more than 1.00% of transactions with low DSRs (1s or 2s) on item as described, and a maximum of 2.00% of low DSRs on communication, shipping time, and shipping and handling cost.

For all transactions with US buyers, have no more than 1.00% of transactions result in opened eBay Buyer Protection and PayPal Buyer Protection cases, and no more than 0.30% of transactions result in closed cases without seller resolution.

I just lost my Top Rated Seller status ... then eBay "generously" sent me this email the day after:

We want you back

Dear imagine.ink,

More sales and big savings could be waiting for you. To reclaim your Top Rated seller status, be sure to upload tracking to eBay on at least 90% of your transactions to US buyers within your stated handling time.

Then reap the rewards of discounts on your final value fees and the highest average boost in Best Match on your qualified listings.

Check your seller dashboard for your up-to-date performance. Then, visit our new  Top Rated seller resource center where you'll find tips and guidance to keep your business in "Top Rated" form. And remember, the eBay Seller Outreach team is ready to help you with a free, telephone consultation on how you can grow your sales even more — you can schedule yours today.

We hope to see you back as a Top Rated seller.

*******

The only reason I lost the Top Rated Seller status is because my delivery tracking was at 73% versus the required 90%.

I had made a business decision that I would not add the costs of delivery tracking to postcards selling under $10.   I'm currently able to mail postcards and small photos securely protected (in a cardboard liner) via first class mail in a business size envelope and charge the customer only $1.00 for shipping, which covers the cost of stamp and envelope.  Delivery tracking is not allowed on that form of first class shipping.

I DID increase shipping costs for postcards and small photos selling for more than $10, but I had to alter my usual means of shipping from business size envelopes to photo mailers to accomodate the delivery confirmation requirements.

Frankly, I'm somewhat relieved I don't even have to do that anymore.  I can now ship all postcards and small photos in my normal business size envelope, without delivery confirmation, and charge my customers only $1.00 versus $3.00-$4.00 to cover the costs of the photo envelope necessary to allow for delivery confirmation.

I'm not happy to lose the 20% final value fees discount, but at some point, you just have to say, "Enough!"

To the top
