2012 Speakers include Ms. Nancy C. Hall, Dr. Michael R. Bradley, Dr. John McCardell, and Ms. Maureen Lee. Dr. Bradley is widely recognized as an expert on the War Between the States in Tennessee. Ms. Hall will introduce new books in her children's series about Harold the snail. Ms. Lee is author of a newly released biography of Sissieretta Jones. Dr. McCardell is Vice Chancellor of the Univesity of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and author of The Idea of a Southern Nation.

Cowan is a small town in Middle Tennessee located just an hour's drive northwest of Chattanooga. It was established in the early 1850's as a station for the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad. Railroad enthusiasts know it as the location of a 2200-ft long, hand-drilled tunnel.
