I do not plan to post a hint or tip-a-day, but I hope others will drop in from time to time and leave a few pearls of wisdom.

Kick-off Tip: Use keywords.

Seldom do I use the title or author’s name in the 45-space title unless it is a collectible or has a famous illustrator. Usually I use a string of keywords. Sometimes the keywords come easily and other times they are not as obvious. I group by theme as much as possible, both to attract the multiple buyers and to ‘expand’ on the number of keywords possible.

This is an especially good idea when the title of the book doesn't even begin to convey the contents.

Also, an author with a realllllllly long name that is relatively obscure won't draw too many lookers either.

Don't be afraid to buy bubblewarp!

Seal the book your sending in something you never know when your package is going to get wet.. you don't want to risk your eBay rep.. over something that could have been avoided.

Review some of your old inventory from time-to-time. Book prices change over time and you may find the description of the book requires some modification as well. Book selling is a continuous process.

lludwig- I'll add to your keyword tip, but I'm really hoping that someone else satnrose perhaps? would restart the hint for today. I'm suffering from hint withdrawal.....

Anyway, an addendum to your keyword tip: If you use html in your listing and for example, you try to use bold to highlight the author's name in your listing, don't let your html code touch the keyword. If you don't have a space between the keyword and the code, your item will not show up in a search.

Treat a $2 sale to a newbie the same way you do a $500 sale to a buyer with hundreds of feedback. And, answer your email!

This tip is a result of an auction I won this week from a powerseller, who never responded to either email I sent after the auction and although the auction listed PayPal as an option, gave me only check/money order as choices in the email I got from her. I was buying under a new ID.
