Wanna see my early Christmas present?

He arrived last night. His mother took this picture with her cell phone this morning.



Damien
6 lbs 14 oz
20.1"


He seems to be a very mellow dude. I watched them taking blood and clean him up through the nursery window. He would cry for a moment, quickly forget and go back to sleep.

This is our 4th grandchild but the first that was born near home and will always live nearby. Also, he'll be living here for a few months.

Congratulations to the parents and grandparents!

You must be thrilled through and through to have a baby in the house.

Thanks. I can't wait until they come home.

Mom is a super trooper. She had a c-section and said that nothing will ever compare to her labor pains. She was in labor for 31 hours, 24 of which were hard labor. What an experience for me. She was at home for 20 of those hours.

Wow! Santa's bringing the cute ones early. So much personality in that tiny face already. Look at those fine straight brows and bare hint of a smile. Adorable, just adorable.

Congratulations! It's wonderful that you'll be helping with the first few months. Should help the parents avoid the traditional sleep deprivation. They must be so grateful.

I don't know about Christmas, but definitely early for Thanksgiving. Good job, ibesheshe, you're lucky to find one so young and tender at this time of year. I'll bet that one has drumsticks that would make you drool. Any older than that and you'd have to use BBQ sauce. Congrats!
