Hello everyone my name is Cody and I'm from Inez, KY. I am 21 years old. I work as a security guard for my local community center, but do not get as many hours as I'd like. This is why I have turned to eBay to supplement my income. I have yet to make a sale myself, but I also just started a few days ago. My mother made the account to sell text books a long time ago but I took it over and hope to start selling knick-knacks here and there, at least until I get the hang of it. If anybody has any advice or comments that could help me out, I would greatly accept/appreciate it!

Hi Cody
The best advice I can give you is to do your research to make sure you understand the fees of both paypal and eBay so that you make money and are not among those who list and complain. We really are a pleasant group and I hope you have great success! I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure--which is: Try to please everybody. Hello... I'm Sandra
I am pretty new to Ebay, I started selling as a hobby in 2010, but I didn't do a lot of listing. In July 2011, I had a bad car accident which left me temporarily disabled for now. I lost my job in 9/2011 and in 10/2011 decided to start selling again on Ebay. I have a DH, 4 Children, 3 boys, 1 daughter and a granddaughter who have all been very supportive of me. I decided to venture out and open a business as not to work for anyone again. I can't begin to tell you how much I just love Ebay, it has been a blessing to me! It is also one of my biggest addiction too!

Hello everyone. Im Nimpher from the Philippines Im new to Ebay too woo lol. Been unemployed for a few months now so I turned to Ebay to try to make some money. Actually I originally planned to sell crochet bags on Etsy but my finger aches when I crochet in less than 30 mins. Btw, Im a dude who crochets and knows how to knit too :P I have read many things about paypal and Ebay before I listed some items hehe. But i still need to read a lot more. One of the things that Im disappointed with Ebay is that, I cannot list more than 4 items because I have reached the maximum $250 limit for new sellers! Bummer. And then my disappointment doubled when I read that funds are held for a couple of days until Ebay confirmed that I have shipped a sold item. I understand these rules though

Hello everyone! (:
My name is Caitlin and I'm 22 years old. I recently lost my job and have been actively searching for work; but in today's economy, with nothing besides a high-school diploma... I'm not having much luck. This is what turned me to Ebay.
I have been creating hemp jewelry for over five years now, and have always been told that I should try to sell my pieces; however, I never really had a need to until recently. I'm really trying to kick-start this Ebay selling, sold three items so far... and I'm really, really hoping more will sell! Any tips to bring traffic to my listings would be much appreciated. Browsing through the other hemp jewelry on here has really inspired me to create more difficult and beautiful pieces; a challenge for myself, persay.
I will be attending school for horticulture this upcoming fall, and I'm very excited about it. (: I am also very enthusiastic about herbology, and I'm trying to self-teach myself this passion. Even though my garden currently consists of only rosemary, oregano, chives, aloe, jade, and poppies, when I get a suitable place to grow more plants and flowers, it will definitely be expanding.
My ultimate goal is to open a small shop consisting of ethnobotanical herbs, naturally made jewelry/other accessories, specialty incense, spiritual books, etc.
Sending good luck to all Ebayers, and hopefully some gets sent my way as well!

Best of luck to you All on eBay and if you have any specific concerns, questions, or anything at all, please, feel free to post it on the board so all can see it and help you all out.
Again, welcome to America and eBay, Martin.
That's so cool that you crotchet and knit, Nimpher. Btw, I'm also flip.
Caitlin, you seem to have your path all planned out...best wishes and I'm sure you'll accomplish them all!

Hello! My name is Andrea and I started on eBay many years ago with just buying items from people. Now I am interested in starting a business here. I am still in the learning phase but hope to open up sometime within the next year. I would love to learn all the qurks from anyone who has gone through this process. I know it can be a trying time starting something.
I mostly spend my time finishing up another degree while looking for full time work.
Thanks for this opportunity to post!

Andrea

Hi, Matt here from Singapore started as an ebay buyer when I joined in 2005. A great place to buy something especially things that don't sell in my country. Only about few months ago I started to be a seller of coins and banknotes. It's a great place to sell too. I've already sold about more than $300 worth of my collectibles. I only used US eBay sites to sell my collectibles even though there is a Singapore eBay sites available but US eBay sites sells better and Singapore eBay sites is a good place to buy something but I still buy from other eBay sites when something is not available locally.

Hi everyone,
My name is Joyce and I'm a new seller but have bought on ebay before. I haven't worked in over a year due to health problems, was denied by SSI, and after this long a time decided I wanted to be my own boss. Sounds pretty ambitious, I know, but I guess I'll just take it one day at a time. I have a 16 year old daughter and 3 cats. I've sold a few items so far with positive results. It's easy to get caught up in selling, pretty soon everything in the house seems to have a price tag on it! LOL Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and spread the word that my stuff can be found at:

Hey! I started selling some old stuff on Craigslist. Mostly bicycles, furniture, etc, stuff I'd never sell here because of shipping hassles. I had a lot of little stuff I needed to get rid of, so I started listing it here. After my first sale I became hooked. Now I'm hitting the thrift shops looking for more stuff to sell. I still have my own things, but my inventory is getting smaller. Btw, my name is Brad.
