How do I edit the "Seller's payment instructions & return policy:" since I don't take different payment methods now?
I would like to do all my auctions at once. I use SAP to list and have changed everything there. There must be some secret place at eBay. Long ago I could go to checkout and edit it, now I can't find that.

Oh, jeez. This is the thread that eBay chose to feature under the "Discussion Highlights" link? (See the box, top right.)

Lets see, someone asks a question. Two days later, there's one reply posted that doesn't even answer the question. And this is worthy of being the featured thread?

I would think that visitors to this board would be more interested in threads that address the continuing and seemingly never ending problems with the eBay invoice system, like the inability to add optional insurance:

http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.jsp?forum=6&thread=400068580&modifed=20031217230237

Or the inability to use the combined invoice feature:

I cannot find where to edit the invoices that are sent to my auction winners. The first item I ever sold required a $1000 deposit. Now that paragraph shows up on every invoice. How do I fix this?

Check the user set up in sap, where you set user defaults and clear out any old info and replace any info that has changed.

I used sap for a couple of years but due to cost increase switched to a free software , so I can't check this, but it is in set up .

poolmegamike, was that a combined invoice for both items?
This may have been sent as a combined shipping for both items, as there was no reduction in shipping and you paid the amount listed in tos then I would just inform seller of payment(s) mailed.

Just change the defaults also check the listing template you are using and change/edit the instructions in the template.

These boards ? are answered by volunteers not by eBay employees, so please turn off the caps, you might also try the sap board for more help.

In my listing I stated "I accept PAYPAL only". I checked paypal prefered, and I did not check any other payment type accepted.

Yet the invoice generated and sent to the buyer said "I accept PAYPAL only", but right underneath that it automatically inserts:

"If you want to mail your payment, please send it and include a copy of this email to:" and then lists my address.

The buyer of course takes this to mean "You only accept paypal or I can mail you whatever kind of payment I want".

How do I set it so that the "If you want to mail your payment" never prints?

Thank you,
Richard Byrne

If the "payment information" was added when uploading an auction on eBay's web site, (not with a program such as Turbo Lister or another listing program) it is remembered at eBay for all future auctions, until it is changed while adding another new listing through the eBay site. I found that he only way to change the information is to create a new auction through the eBay site. I added a "test" auction and deleted everything I wrote in the "Payment instructions...." field, and changed the other payment information as needed. That should change the payment information for all future auctions. Then use your listing software (Turbo Lister or whatever you use) to specify payment instructions. I thank eBay tech support for their advise on this.

Andermace, thank you for that rube goldberg fix to a problem that should have a simple link in My Ebay 2.0. I too have been searching for the new preferences link, and to my surprise, it doesn't exist. I hope Ebay Plans to right this oversight. Finally, an end to my frustration.

You're welcome! I have found that the "rube goldberg fix" in fact does work! Sadly, eBay does yet not intend to make a quick link for solving this irritating problem.

I recently sold an item as a Buy It Now-"No Shipping" when I went to invoice the item I could not get rid of the shipping charge. The buyer would like to pay by Money order and has checked out (My allow buyer to adj. amount is turned on) but buyer failed to change total. Buyer would like a new invoice with the corrected amount-less shipping. I can't adjust the invoice totals-it won't let me, when I click "send new invoice" it just sends.... how do I access the invoice to adjust and send? Any advice? Has the invoiceing process recently changed-I could swear I could always access the shipping charge? HELP!!! :)

gooddealdad, just do up an invoice in your word processing program and send it to the buyer. It doesn't matter one bit what eBay Checkout tells him to pay, what matters is that he pays you the correct amount.

I hate the fact that a buyer can edit the payment area. I had one buyer that decided she didn't need to pay for the insurance amount I stated (which matched the amount she paid for the item)& deducted an amount from the money she owed me. Only the seller should be able to alter the payment area.

Go to your eBay Selling Preferences and check the box that doesn't allow buyers to adjust the total.

If a buyer pays the wrong amount through PayPal refund their payment using the Refund button and re-invoice them for the correct amount.

I have 22 hours left on my auctions...paypal decided to restrict my account and won't allow me to take the money out, but welcome the money to come in. I want to let my buyers know that paypal is no longer accepted...I went to revise my listing, added a comment to my description, and when I submit the revisions button, I get this error repeatedly:

Undefined error : SYI.BIZ.30

Does ebay prevent us from adding to the description when they know that our paypal accounts are frozen, hoping that my buyers will send the money to that account anyway? PLEASE HELP ASAP....
