For those who may need help posting pictures of your stuff on forums (or simply want a HTML reminder of what to do), please feel free to use this tutorial as a guide whenever you need it. Note that even after you get your HTML codes for your pictures you may need to do some editing to the HTML codes themselves to avoid the photobucket ads. Instructions on how this is done are near the end of this post. (BTW these codes should work for any forum board not just the eBay boards.)
Firstly you will need to upload your pictures to a piture hosting site. I use Photobucket. It’s simple and easy to use (and best of all IT’S FREE!!!)
Simply go here:
http://www.photobucket.com to create your free account (or sign in if you already have an account):

(Note that all these pics posted here are clickable thumbnails. I like to right click and “Open Link in New Tab” most of the time on the thumbnails posted over here.)
Once you have a Photobucket account you are ready to start uploading, but, if you like to keep your stuff neat and organised you will most likely want to sort your pictures into “sub albums”. Simply scroll down a little until you see the “Create new album” button and click on that:

Just type in the name of your album in the first box and click the “Create Album” button. (Note that you can even create sub albums inside your new albums if you wish. For instance maybe an “American Coins” album with several albums inside it for your Pennies, Nickels, etc. and then inside your “Pennies” sub album – “Large Cents”, “Half Cents” “Small Cents”, etc. and inside your “Small Cents” sub album more sub albums for Indian heads, Wheatbacks, etc. You can name them whatever you want.):

Your new album will automatically open up in the next page that is displayed, however, I like to go back to the main page that shows all my sub albums, right click the album I want and “open in a new tab” (this will keep my main album page open should any problems arise during my uploads and I can simply close the new tabs and reopen them from the main page).
Once your album is created and you have it open you are now ready to start uploading your pictures to it. Simply click the “Upload Now” Button:

And then “Choose file” (Note – for selecting individual files you DO NOT need the Adobe Flash 10 Uploader):

Now search your computer for the picture you want to upload. Once you find the picture you can either double click it or single click and “open”:

Then simply click the “Start Uploading” button. Note: Make sure you have the name of your picture (as shown by the red arrow) BEFORE you “Start Uploading”:

Once your picture has uploaded you should get this page:

You can either “Upload more files” or “Save and continue to my album”
You may, however, get an error message once the upload bar turns completely blue (and most likely none of the links on the page are working now) – especially if you have a slow internet connection:

Never fear. This just means the Photobucket ads have interupted the display of the “Upload Complete” page. Simply close this page off and go back to the same album and your newly uploaded picture should be there. This is why I like to “open in a new tab” the new album I am trying to put pictures into. Sometimes you may even have to refresh the main page to open your new album into a new tab and sometimes may even have to close everything off and sign in again to your Photobucket account.
OK, now you have all your pictures you want in this particualr album uploaded. Now what?
You need to “select” the pictures you wish to post your clickable thumbnails for. You can do individual pictures by mousing over the pic and checking the box from the drop menu (Note – you can do this for any number of pictures in your album BEFORE going on the generate your HTML codes):

Or you can simply check the “Select All/Unselect All” box for everything in this album:

Now click “Choose action” then “Generate link codes for selected”:

Then simply click the code under “HTML clickable thumbnails for Ebay, Livejournal, MySpace, etc. – recommended”:

Then COPY/PASTE to your post.
If, however, the “Generate HTML Code” page does not work and you get this with the red “X”s (as will sometimes happen especially if you have a slow internet connection) and none of the codes can be clicked:

Then you need to mouse over each individual picture, highlight the HTML slot as shown below by clicking on it, then copy paste that to your post:
But you are still not quite done yet. Photobucket wants all their ads to show up on any pics that you post on forums. To avoid this a slight adjustment on the HTML code is needed before you click the “Post Message” button. Just delete everything between the “?” and the second “=” as shown in the next picture:

This MUST be done for each picture you are posting.
AND (for those where the “Generate HTML Code” page didn’t work and you had to select your code in the drop menu under each individual picture) you have to INSERT the “th_” into your HTML code as shown below (else your “thumbnail” will be a full size picture). Note that the “th_” is ONLY added to the last URL in the code and is actually part of the picture name:

Compare the code in the above two pictures with the the code in the following pic to see the difference. Your Photobucket account name, albums, sub-albums and picture names will be different from mine of course. In some cases where a different website is used just remember your HTML code simply uses the URL to where ever your picture is located on the net:

And that’s all there is tuit:

Note: If you have neglected to remove the “action/current” part from the HTML code your link will go to a photobucket page that will also display any and all of the ads photobucket wants you to see.
Also if your HTML code does NOT have the “th_” inserted in it your “thumbnail” will be a full sized picture (though it will still link to your photobucket picture).
Wa He Yo!!!
