I agree also, with the "except" the higher dollar ones need to be slabbed by PCGS or NGC to get top dollar here. People are getting cautious of higher dollar coins from sellers they don't know.

I would certainly be more interested in all types of franklin halves than kennedy halves. I think the franklins have a better coin design, and are certainly more scarce and valuable. Kennedy halves were heavily hoarded by the public and thus have poor investment potential, with the exception of early high grade coins and rare varieties.

However, many of the franklin halves are more expensive than a good number of collectors' budgets will allow. Consider the people you would like to sell to.

Thanks for all the responses.

I guess I'll focus on moving the Franklins. When I get to the Kennedy's, I'll price them accordingly.

What about high grade 1964 Kennedy Proofs and DCAMs from the 1960s. Would they be desirable like the Franklins?

Which Would Move Better

Through our intestines, I imagine they would move the same, unless slabbed of course.

Early Kennedy half proofs can be quite desirable in dcam high grade. I see them get some attention on ebay, their actual popularity again will depend on what kind of clients you wish to cater to. If you go to a coin show, I bet the Franklins will sell best. If you own a shop and want to have some nice affordable coins for the customer on a budget, the Kennedys can be good to have on hand.

Kennedy circulation strikes from 1965-67 offer wonder opportunities for cherrypicking: ms66 and higher coins are very rare from this era in spite of high mintage (there were no mint sets, the SMS sets are separate numismatic pieces). If you want to look for opportunities to buy slabbed ms65's from this era and try to get them upgraded there are collectors like me who would buy them.

The Franklins all are silver. Full bell lines on them command a premium.
