I was a huge fan in the 80's and was heartbroken when it got cancelled.
Some time back I got the 2 miniseries on DVD and the TV series. I watched the 2 minis, it was awesome, then I put in the weeklies...
And came to the conclusion that I had no taste at all back in the 80's. I admit I haven't watched all the series episodes again (I did see them all back when first aired). I just can't do it. It's too horrible.
Having the fuzzy nostalgic memories was better.
The new one might be good, or not. I don't have a TV so I won't know. From what I've seen I don't like it. Part of the old appeal was the aesthetic which seems largely missing. At least they could have kept the snazzy red uniforms.
