Mac,

That salad looks so yummy. I have gotten to where we have romaine salad at least six times a week.

I took one to some friends who were having an oyster roast on Saturday night and they all went crazy over it.

All it was, Romaine lettuce, raisens, roasted almond slices, and a lowfat rasberry vinegarette dressing.

Nancy-- I buy those huge 3 lb bags of romaine lettuce at Sams and we use every bit of it! I LOVE salads--I could eat just simply salad all the time and be a happy camper.

Booti--your taco salad looks awesome! How do you do your shells?

This is a GREAT thread! Thanks Kimmy for starting it! It's always so much fun to see what everyone is chowin' down on every day!

just a tortilla that you fry in veg oil, and as soon as you take it out, put in a round salad bowl to get the shape.

Bootimax,

That is a beautiful salad.

When we go to our favorite mexican restaurant I always get either taco salad or chimichangos.

Now you've made me hungry for a taco salad:^O

I'm thrilled to see so many wonderful photos of delicious dishes! Every one made me say "mmmmmm" and the taco salad made my stomach growl!

I love your photos! I can almost taste each item. I hope you'll all continue to post your photos.
And if you don't know how just ask for help, it really is easy and we can talk you through it.

I've been too busy to post lately but I've taken photos of some of my recent yummies.

Pork Wontons- for some reason the photo with the cooked wontons in soup broth didn't upload, I'll post it next time. My wonton soup was delicious. As you can see, I've been taught to wrap tortellinis, this carried over to my wonton folding-

I used some of the pork filling to make deep fried crispy wonton appetizers, they were tasty also

I saw a post on another board that I frequent extolling the virtues of McD's Filet O Fish. We don't like fast food any more but I make even tastier (and much healthier) versions at home from scratch.

Tartar sauce ingredients (it takes about 3 minutes to make a batch that puts McD's to shame)

The finished product

I use fresh or frozen (unbreaded) fish filets and whole wheat buns (steamed). The result is fantastic. This tartar sauce is great for calamari rings too.

Mac, your banana cake looks SO good! I love cream cheese frosting.

I made banana bread last weekend. I found a simple and amazing recipe a couple of years ago that makes the BEST banana bread I've ever had. Moist, dense, chewy and totally BANANA. I found it turns out best if I use the smaller loaf pans. I also like to make mini muffins with the same recipe and freeze dozens of them in a Ziploc, we take them to work for breakfast or snacks.

If you're interested in the recipe you can find it on one of my favorite foodie blogs, simplyrecipes com.

Now this dish looks gross but tastes soooo good!
One of our favorites- Joe's Special.

First I sautee a pound of sliced mushrooms until they are barely done & remove them from the pan. A pound of ground sirloin browned with some onion and garlic and some s&p, toss in a box of defrosted chopped frozen spinach (with ALL of the liquid totally squeezed out) Add mushrooms back to the pan, Beat 8 egss (I use 5 whole eggs and 5 whites)- seasoned lightly with s&p, then pour over the hot meat and cook quickly just until the eggs are done and firm. Grate some fresh parmesan on top before serving if you like.

This dish is great for dinner (with salad and crusty french bread), leftover lunch, brunch, camping breakfast. Also in a flour tortilla with a few squirts of tabasco or some salsa. Believe it or not, kids LOVE this dish.

Tahiti, my wok is from Costco. It was $25 and I just love it. It's heavy and conducts heat well, the nonstick surface is VERY durable and it has a long handle plus a "helper handle" I use it all the time. I think they still carry this pan in the stores.

Thanks Kimmy. I wish that our Costco was a bit closer (and less crowded). How much is membership?
I've been looking for a good Wok for a long time now. Somehow, I keep envisioning myself with an old one that some fabulous cook had used for years and years, well seasoned, that I just happen to inherate.

I took a picture of some vegetable potstickers that DH made on my iphone...now what?? lol

Love all your pictures. Looks like we have some great cooks in here.

That brunch looks yummy. Eggs benedict is one of our favorites. Did you make your hollandaise from scratch or is it Knorr? Your biscuits are so pretty!!!

We had St. Patrick's food today for lunch. Couldn't wait since I found corned beef on sale for $2.12 #.

I just made some Amish Friendship Bread. The house smells so yummy. I think I am driving my doggies wild with the smells.
