I love to fish and have my own stocked pond, Cloe and I go fishing several times a week, we catch and release tho.
She loves the thrill of realing them in as much as I do and will pose with the fish for pictures like she just caught it herself.
Any other fisherwoman or men here?

Karen......my hubby and I both love to fish but we have just been so busy for the last 26 years with the horses, racing and farm we haven't had a chance to get away.
When we made up our mind last year to retire and move to AR the fist thing I did was buy an all sport canoe. It has a flat back with trolling motor. The Strawberry river runs right through Salem and the White and Spring are within an hours drive. We can't wait to get down there and try them out.
May have to learn to fly fish though. We will have the rest of our lives to learn......:^) ~~~~Judy~~~~ Smile and the world Smiles with you

I love to fish (funny enough my other half likes to but I cannot get him to go with me!)
They are about to build a 300+ acre lake across the street from us so now he will have no excuse with 'I don't feel like driving to the lake.' lol...

Geze I have to start proof reading, lol Just came back from the pond, big misstake I made last time I went, left the pole on the chair with cheese bait on it, the whole pole is no where to be found. Guess the local racoons got it. Glad I have several poles down there, Pink, how great on that new lake. You can just walk to it and no driving, how cool will that be. My pond is right down from the house so I walk to, pretty cool.

Well where I live in Ar., we are 2 miles of dirt road to Bull Shoals lake and we are an hour from the White river which is one of the top 10 trout fishing rivers in America. We go fishing almost every weekend. Its a great weekend when we can saddle up our horses or hop on the 4 wheelers and head to the lake with our fishing gear. We have a pontoon too but mostly for fun and partying than fishing although we do fish from it. We generally fish for Bass and Trout but on the late party evenings, Catfish too.

How fun Dis. Maybe someone can answer a question for me. I have large catfish in my stock tank and they bite great during the summer, but nothing in the winter. Does anyone know why? All I catch are little sun perch in the winter, that is if they don't steal my worms. lol

I love to fish! I would go everyday if I had time. My hubby will go with me, but if he doesn't catch something in the first 3 minutes, he's bored. LOL. In Wyoming, there isn't that many ponds or lakes, but we have great trout streams. I live near the mountains and am only minutes from a good fishing pond, but I still can't get out enough. I love sitting in my chair, (also smoking a cig Ü ) with my 2 labs, who watch my bobber almost as closely as I do. LOL They are so funny. When I throw back my fish, my yellow lab Max goes diving after it and will spend up to an hour looking for it, sticking his head under water, pawing around. It's to funny. I almost like watching him more than actually fishing Ü. I can't wait till Spring!! Have fun everyone!

Hi Gypsy, we gals need to get together for a fishing trip, now how fun would that be!
I have never fished for trout, bet thats a blast.
I have never caught anything bigger then this catfish out of my own tank, he is 2 feet long and was so fun to catch.
My little pole wouldnt bring him in so had to pull the line by hand, lol, so I upgraded in case I catch him again.
I kept him in the pond in the garden for a few days to admire him then back in he went.

I like to fish, but the price of a fishing license just got to be too much for all the more I get to go. DH can't go fishing unless I do. HE won't touch live bait or the fish. What a switch! When the boys were little we went all the time. But now they won't pay the price for a licence for all the more they can go either. ****** I'm too old for puppies!

Had to laugh, we had just returned from the sportsman's show with our new poles and my hubby wanted me to go online to order the reels, I came here and found this. My hubby likes to fish the rivers and puget sound (big fish!). Bought him a boat for Xmas. I'm new to the salmon, steelhead, springer, or whatever we are after that day. I have learned that you supposedly need a different set up for each kind of fish, and apparently the newer the better? We also have a creek, and a beaver pond, with trout on the place. I have a small boat that I used to row around in and drink my coffee, smoke my smokes and enjoy the quit time. Had to bring it out for repair, now I just need to convince some major muscles to drag it back in for me. Although I enjoy fishing with my hubby, I like the grab some worms, go for a walk and leave he world behind, fishing trips. I remember asking my mom one time where my dad was, her answer. "He took his fishing pole, so he must be out checking cows or fixing fences."

hahahahha, love your last sentance, lol I love catching whatever is biting, We have a blow up boat, little pontoon I think but I cant lift it, would be fun to row to the middle of the pond with it. My hubby has no patients for it, and besides, me and my dp and cigs do just fine without him babbling all the while I am sitting there enjoying, or trying to enjoy the quiet, lol

Me too, we went walleye fishing and I caught my biggest bass ever. Nobody was thrilled because we were "WALLEYE FISHIN". It was the highlight of my day, I didn't care what they thought.

Hey! Bass fishin' is great! I live in some of the best trout country in New England but to me bass fishin' is where it's at either in Fresh or Saltwater. They can really give you a great battle.

i really like to bass fish myself. I live in Kentucky and numerous lakes and rivers are here. Fishing is just excellent here. I am building my geodesic dome (another thread) on a 5000 acre lake! Talk about fishing!! Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Striped Bass, Catfish are all easy to put on the table here. Charlie

HE won't touch live bait or the fish.
That IS a switch!
There is a small pond in a nearby state park that we take our kids fishing. Our library even has poles so people can check them out to go fishing!
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!
