Is Low feedback or no feedback a deterent?

Oct 29, 2009 5:35 AM
Hello all

I am a newbie here, and would much appreciate any input on starting out selling. I have no feedback yet ( I have made a few small purchases, but have not yet received the FB for those), and would like to know if it would be even worth trying to sell anything ? Would you be comfortable bidding on an auction with a seller with no FB? I was thinking maybe starting them very low to entice buyers, and hopefully would overshine the no FB. I have many vintage xmas items, but are the buyers more cautious in certain categories. Thank you for your time and info

I am leary of buying from people with no feedback, but there are buyers who will . It was a good idea to make some purchases first. Since you haven't received feedback yet I would message the sellers and ask them to leave feedback. If you decide to go ahead and list and you have experience selling somewhere else, like Amazon, Etsy, etc., you could mention your sellername and feedback in your listing.

People are leary of buying from people with little feedback.

Having said that, throw some things up on E-bay and see how they do. Start with lower-priced items. Everyone has to earn their "Feedback".

Hmmmmm, do you have any items we could help identify??

We always like to do that stuff!!! We could at least point you in the right direction!

The only way to have feedback is to build it.

So start buying more items. List a few less expensive items to sell.

Keep your shipping costs as low as possible.

Leave nice feedback for your purchases and sales.

Soon you'll have feedback that you are proud of and it will grow as you go along.

Good luck to you. :)

Everyone here had no feeback at one time so go ahead and list a few less expensive items.

Know your prices on vintage christmas items. Some can be quite valuable.

Research them here and elsewhere and be sure to read all about the accepted payment methods and their rules :)

Always ship with tracking too.

Good luck1

Yeah definitely start with some lower priced items first. When someone has no feedback and they are selling something expensive I usually am scared to bid. Also make sure you left the sellers feedback sometimes people are waiting for you to leave it first or just forgot.

hi, i personally don't pay attention to fb, if u have something i am looking for i will buy it!
And everyone had to start somewhere
If it does bother most, try buying low priced items
List some low priced items.. not everyone worries about low feedback!

Wishing u the very best!!
