It's.. AUGUST!!

Where does the time go!?
Summer is fun; but the (only) good thing about the winter months is that it's a good time for mini-ing!

Good for your Choca, they are really special. Isn't nice when you find something you just can't resist. I can't wait to see where you put them, I know it will look fabulous. Since your moving (ugh) don't want to do that again it will be a while until they find their home. Good luck on the move, your smart to pack early and mark your boxes well. It was the first time in a long time I knew where everything was. Not now of cause. LOL Good Luck, Dolly

Nice dolls!
I need some help/advice. I want to order wallpaper but i don't want to break the bank. The sheets come in 16.9" widths. I measured the circumforence(?) of the rooms and it's 36" around the living room, 30" around the bedroom. How many sheets of wallpaper should i order? Will 4 of each be enough? tia!

Lori: re: wallpaper....I never buy less than three sheets. And depending on the pattern... I might buy FOUR.. just in case.
I used a lot of scrapbook paper in the last two projects I did, which is another whole can of worms. ha. However, it's easy to work with because it's stiff, compared to actual dollhouse wallpaper.

Oooh, swoon drool thud... What a lovely group!!!
Congratulations on the Wee Patsy!! HOo ha! I have a Wee Patsy as well; she is the one that came in a box with the Colleen Moore Dollhouse stuff on it, has her own little wardrobe and all.
I really lost control at the doll show. This is my Miss Dolly Schoenhut. She needs work, but she's solid and I got her for a good price. There are no chips or dings on her face.. I think some little girl just took extra good care of her and washed her facepaint away. LOL

hi everyone, in this heat who's wishing for winter already? LOL~ nearly half finished with August zoom...
Choca, your Miss Dolly sure looks happy AND excited to be safe in your hands! how tall is she?
did you see the recent Schoenhut carved hair listings on ebay, gosh they will need a lot of restoration. s'one will know what to do.
by the way...there's another LG on ebay but the listing has her ID'd as Effanbee Suzette. i'm just watching to see price it fetches, i don't need need need another i'm very content with my little group.
the only other goodie i am watching is a cute Effanbee Patsyette, she has the bracelet and original buckle shoes.
price will prolly go too high for my pocketbook. plus i've already exceeded the "shelf space" i have limited myself. so i **sigh** won't be bidding
okaaaaaaaay i gotta go do some housework yeck...ugh... gotta look forward to a shower and nap afterwards yeah that'll motivate me.
G'day everyone~

Your little girls look fresh, clean and cheerful in their new outfits, Diane!! LOVELY!!
Miss Dolly is 19" tall.
I ordered her a new wig... so I'm waiting for that.
She'll have to be content with that for now, I think. I'm probably not going to be able to do anything else for her for awhile. Although....I can still get at my paints... so I COULD be tempted to work on her face a little.
(where are my brushes?? omg. ) hahaha!

DELIGHTFUL!!!
Diane I think your two Little Girls are so sweet, & the two Nancy Anns reminded me of a high school friend and melted my heart. Joanie & I always sat next to each other in art class, and after several weeks of experimentation with pointalism, she started referring to the two of us as "The Dot Sisters". Fond memories of a dear girl, and a really cute photo, great job on the freshning up!
Chris, Miss Dolly is lucky you went hog wild, she belongs with you, & I'm sure she will wait patiently for her re-do.

Starting to work on my 2nd Tin a little bit. (As Summer is ending??? Whats up with that?)
I'm having a tough time though, I recently purchased a bath set on e-bay, but it was the wrong scale. I just got back from a week in Maine & was excited to find a multi dealer consignment shop that had two Tinnys in it. I just KNEW I would find furniture too! Well, I did, but was terribly disappointed that prices were high & condition was awful. The houses themselves were cheap in both booths I found them in, but the booth that had the furniture was waaaay out of line. All I really need to buy is a bed, & some bath furniture. I got all excited about a four poster, but two of the four posts were broken, missing legs, and still priced at $9. Not for me. They had other pieces, but they were either things I don't need, or in equally bad condition.
Oh well. I guess the hunt is 1/2 the fun!

Choca,
Here's a few pics of stuff I've done lately just to tide you over while your stuff is "resting" prior to your big move!
I painted and shabby chic'd the furtniture, and made matching stationery for the desk by copying the fabric onto paper. The pen is made from the tips of a bamboo toothpick and colord with a gold leaf marker. I painted and aged the oars too, which was great fun!

Choca.....continued!
Here's a couple more! I had just watched the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics when I painted the little primitive chair/stool! The pie safe is an inexpensive one I changed the knobs on and aged a bit. The chairs and table (old HOM) and the mirror are stuff I got cheap on eBay and redid.
Hang in there, you'll have lots of fun decorating your new "big" house and then being reunited with your minis and your "babies"!!! Something to look forward to!

Great stuff Toni! I'm creepin up on shabby chic too. I switched the lamp and the rug in my livingroom for a punch of color. I think it looks better!

Have a good day everyone. Cloudy and cool here today. Fall is in the air.

Twanger,
Thank you ma'am!!! I'm all hooked on shabby chic cuz you don't haveta be too careful about how you paint, hee, hee!!! Fun!!!
Lori,
I do love this house!!!! I love the pops of color you added! It gives a room realism and life when everything is not all matchy matchy, which I USED to prefer! Now I like a room to look like real folks live there! This room is great and I still love that china on the pretty dining room table too!!!

Toni, I am panting over your shabby chic furniture. You really have a flair for knowing exactly what to do with plain pieces. I wish I could get into your head and learn all your tricks.
Twanger, really like what you have done with the livingroom. I keep moving my pieces around all the time, never satisfied with the final result. Keep the pictures coming. Dolly

hi everyone
Toni, fer'sure your inner artist is shining thru, because you could see the wonderful potential in those "before" pieces.
your color choices definitely evoke classic Shabby Chic, the off-white and soft pink, distressed in all the right places
way fab copying the fabric, genius idea
i luv that seagull too, perfect life-infused finishing touch
everything is lovely~

Oh you sure are a little devil. I love, love, love all the furniture and tomorrow I am heading down stairs with paint brush in hand. I can just see that seagull sitting on top of my beach house. sigh, sigh. Can you give me a clue where to find one, please don't tell me you made it or I will cry. That furniture was MADE FOR MY BEACH HOUSE. Darn it. Oh well, I am sure it looks great where you have it too. Such talent, I just appreciate you so much. Dolly
I did find some really nice lobster traps in my searching all the things I got at the auction.
