Haven't picked out attic or bathroom yet. Bathroom will be tiled, just haven't decided yet. Hardwood strip floors. Just gonna order 3 or 4 different ones and go from there. No harm having extra....Not like this is going to be my one and only house...  I'm sure there will be others. the Harrison, the Beacon Hill..... lol.

Thanks Dolly. Yeah, I'm just gonna go with what the kit contains. Use the proper staircase and doors. I'm gonna measure everything today, poke around in the box a bit. I see the windows have to be assembled. That's all the pieces I was talking about.

Measure for what I need for paper and floors then I can order it, wait, then start building. i gess if I'm priming it all before I start I could get that done. Might take a while.

I've pretty much decided on bright blue clapboards and grey and white trim for the outside.

Ttyl.

Quick question for Dolly. Can I prime the whole sheet or do I need to punch out the pieces and prime each piece?

I ordered my wallpaper and flooring today. Chose the paper above and 2 different sets of flooring - one a reddish mahogany and one a lighter pine colour.I also ordered one of thos wall/floor tile kits for the bathroom. yeah, delft blue..... love that stuff.

I've decided to build and prime as I go. Work floor by floor. I have a feeling once I get going it'll go fast, i tend to be a bit OCD about "crafty" things. Which leaves me about 2 weeks to get the backroom cleaned out and set up before the stuff arrives. I need one more kitchen table to work off of in there. A quick trip to Canadian tire for supplies. Then...... I'm off to the races. holidays in Sept so I'm all set!

Hi Lori, if it was me putting it together I would prime all the sheets first.  I wouldn't punch out all these window pieces and paint them one piece at a time,  It would take forever and by using one of the 6" rollers you can paint a sheet in no time.  After you punch out the pieces you may want to touch up the edges but unless they are going to show they may not need to be painted.

The edges on these kits are pretty rough so you probably will want to have smooth edges.  I hope this helps, if not maybe some one else can chime in, Lots of ideas are always great.  I,m excited for you  Dolly

I was thinking that's what I should do. I can get the sheets primed a bit at a time. NO rush right? Lol. Ttyl

Right, this is something you want to take your time and enjoy it.  The women who built my Pierce did a great job, she needed the space so that is why she sold it to me.  The frame was together but all the windows, doors, porch, trims and most of the shingles still needed to be done.  I also put the clapboard on so I feel I did a good portion of it.

Today, I got a email from a woman who is interested in buying my Pierce kit that I have on Craigslist.  She wanted to know if she could build it in about a week.  I had to laugh, she would have to work on it everyday all day for a week.  By the way if I were you I would buy Quick Grab for your glue,  This stuff is great, it dries really fast and is very strong.  Well, take care, keep us posted.  Dolly

Yes, lot's of time. That's why it's a winter project right? I'm thinkin I'm going to enjoy building it more than i will furnishing it when it's done................. uhhhhh maybe not.

Quick Grip. Hope I can get it up here in northern Manitoba. If not Home Hardware should be able to order it, they're excellent that way. :D

Oh yeah, Quick Grab is amazing! It's hard for me to find in L.A., but the DH store in Ventura carries it so I get BFF Marilyn to pick some up every once in awhile just for me (she works there a couple days a week)! Love that stuff!!!

I'd go take a look at the Pierce on Craigslist, but I can't figure that site out at all!!! Never can find the dollhouses or anything else specific! I think I have a closed mind since the Craigslist killer move!!! Scared me out of even trying that site!!! Ebay should have helped produce that movie! It probably got them quite a few customers!

Hi Toni, glad someone else thinks that Quick Grab is good to use..  I should buy stock in the company because I use so much of it.  At least when I was working a lot on my dollhouse.  Haven't been down there much this summer.

As for Craigslist, you go to the state, then norrow it down to the part of the state you want to advertise in.  Like I live in Eastern part of Ct.  That will take you to the list of categories.  I listed my Pierce in Art and Crafts and Toys and Kids stuff.  just type in dollhouse and choose a listing with picures.  I know what you mean about the Craigslist killer, that scares me to so I have met the buyer at the local Mc Donalds.  Well, take care have a great weekend.  Dolly

Craigslist scares me. I'm involved in a GSD dog community on Facebook. They're allways spewing horrors about FREE dogs and what happens to them.

On a lighter note........ the paper and flooring are in the mail. I've examined every single sheet of wood and I have a plan.Might not be able to get Quick Grab here. Wondering if Weldbond would be allright.

All of the flooring and wallpaper is here. A friend is taking me shopping later to get glue, primer, brushes, stuff like that. I've "lent" most of my playline Barbie stuff to a friend's grand-daughter to make some room in the..... room. So........ it's a go... Here's some pics of my flooring and wallpaper. I don't know about you but I can see it all in my mind clear as day.

This is the 1st floor piece with the flooring just to get an idea. 4 sheets of each color, ordered both to see them "in person". More than enough.

Love the mahogany. Just what I want for the livingroom...

Here's the wallpaper for the livingroom...

The diningroom......

The kitchen. This tile set. Originally orered it for the bathroom but it has fruits on it so... kitchen it is....

That's pretty much the 1st floor. Stain the staircase same as the floor. Lovin it........

Back later with 2nd floor pics...

:-x

Hi Toni, good to see you are still around.  I have a couple of questions for you if you wouldn't mind.  At the auction I got a couple of houses and roomboxes but I am not sure the scale of furniture that goes into each one.  If I gave you the size of the rooms would you be able to tell me what scale it takes?  I have only worked with 1" to 1foot scale.  Thanks, Dolly

Masterbedroom wallpaper

Wp with the pine floor and some tiny tiny pink rose wp but I'm thinkin it's too much pink.

Luvin this Country French with the pine tho..... smaller beroom.

Here's a better shot of the roses.

And finally this sampler paper that I was going to use for the kitchen till I saw the fruit on the tiles an nixed that for the bathroom. Spose I could just switch. This might look ok .

So, that's where I am today. Bought spray on Krylon flat white paint/primer. Weld Bond is my best choice up here for availability. That or Gorilla Glue.

Enjoy the pics! Ttyl.

Was laying in bed last night reviewing my plans and then it hit me. I can't use a spray on paint/primer. I have animals in the house and really no place to spray it. Unless I carry it outside, around, and into the basement (exterior entrance, share with the other tenant). An it's way too winy an usty out there these days. Soooooo dig out the receipt and take the spray back and get roll on. *sigh*.

Lori,

You're doing a fine job with WP and flooring I must say!! Love all your choices. I don't think the roses are too much pink at all! You could keep the furniture monotone white or light ivory/off white, and if you use floral bedding make the flowers a much smaller scale than the WP and/or use stripes in the same colors as the WP. Remember when Johnny had the floral paper and used it on all 3 walls, it was great! By the time all the furniture is in place most of the WP is covered, and there's lots more to focus on. WP can feel overpowering in and emply room, but just wait til all the STUFF is in place, it'll be fabu!!!! Thanks for the updates! Keep 'em conmin'!

I love birds too.  saw a Great White Egret today :)  among others to identify.

As much as I LOVE your wallpaper I just paint at least 2 coats inside and out.  whatever color to be I used a thinnish coat first then go for it.  In my home also.  The only wallpaper is the Forest one behind my main dollhouse.  haha

wishing you happy thoughts with your Pierce.
