Hello! I bought a dollhouse that needs to be finished. The lady that was building it in the 70s had papered it and the wallpaer is now yellow. I want to replace it but not sure what to use to take it off. This house has been wired for electricity. Also not sure if the paper is behind the baseboard and facings. Any suggestions will help.

Oh and I do love coming here and reading the post, one thing I sure would love to see is somemore pics of everyones houses.

thanks DEE

First..

Does the electrical stuff still work?

Get that figured out before you do anything, I guess.

If it doesn't work...then that's one problem solved.

What is the house made of ?  Is it one of those kits with lightweight wood or is it heavier??

You can use a damp sponge with a scrubby surface to dampen and remove some of the paper, then as you get it worked loose.. use a paint scraper to just peel it off.

Of course if the electrical doesn't work you'll just rip that out as you go along. If you're trying to save it.. then you'll have to go around the wiring and just paper over it after you remove the rest of the paper.

Good luck!!

Here are a couple of pics from one of my houses:
