yipee! the snow is melting!
last week the birds were chirping, the plants were sprouting, the squirrels were playing chase in the yard and I was out yard cleaning! this week eveyone is in shock! this morning, I could swear I saw a cardinal fly by, covered in snow lol! poor baby

I was at the swap meet last weekend and this guy that sell Barbies and other toys was there. He had all these Barbies on the hood of his car and they are usually modern Barbies but this time I noticed a doll that was on a stand and she was covered in a plastic bread wrap. I went over and picked her up and I could see she was a blonde Fair Hair. Not having a blonde Fair Hair I was excited!! I asked him if I could look at it and he pulled the bread wrap off of her. I could tell she was on a Francie body. I asked her how much he wanted and he told me $35. I started to examine her hair and the seller got all wacko on me and told me not to mess her hair up! I tried to explain that I was checking for any missing hair plugs and checking her ears for any green but he was not having any of it. He told me that he already checked her on Ebay and he was selling her for what she was worth. I was ticked now because he was so rude and I told him she was on the wrong body. He told me she was wearing her original dress which was something I did not even recognize because it was a modern outfit and it had a pair of those hard plastic hong kong boots. I forgot to ask him how he looked her up on Ebay since she was on the wrong body! For that price I would have normally purchased her but he was so rude about me touching her hair that I walked away without the doll so I plan on going back next week and making my hubbie go other there and get her if she is still there but as of right now I have NO blonde Fair Hair. Was I just too sensitive or was he just a really snobby seller or both?

Also, who knows what those boots are hiding! I had a seller act like that once at a flea market. I was travelling and saw that a flea market was happening next door to a shop I had stopped at. A lady had a 12" bisque-head doll for $50. It did look old (except for the wig) and not a repro. What I know about antique dolls could fit here: O. I do know enough to look at the head & body, lifting off the wig. The wig on this doll was cemented to it's head & the clothes were sewn on. I asked the seller if SHE would remove the wig or do ANYTHING so that I could look it over better. She got all huffy and acted as if I had just asked to do a tap dance all over her doll. I just left.
