just a general warning. i tried to sign in and got a pop up asking for all kinds of information, including mother's maiden name, social security number, credit card number, CVV and PIN number, etc.  had to try three times to sign in securely.  please be aware that this pop up had the correct EBAYlogo and it looked legit.  warning, warning, warning!

Today I was already surfing for a long time and this popped up asking me to sign in again and I think its HINKY.

course there is no way to report this to ebay short of phoning and being put on hold and then they will deny they are having ANY problems and tell me to get tech support for MY computer. * gag*

pop up windows style box

INBOX message = A user name and password arebeing requested by http://i.ebayimg.com. The site says: "FE Build-A-Pool PROD Auth"

INBOX refers to text message inside the box, NOT an email inbox

This kind of pop up is affecting my ebay activities as well.   Deleted my entire browsing history, did no good.   Tried disabling plug-ins.   Still there.   Only happens when I log into eBay, so its an attack focused on eBay and is distributing the problem to sellers generally.

I have been on the phone with Ebay for over half an hour with the security department.  I explained about the pop up and they had no idea what I was talking about.  THe said it was probably from Ebay if it was coming up while using the Ebay sight even though he was not aware of any pop up like this.  He suggested I use a different browser because it was just something wrong with my computer.  I explained that there were many Ebay users experiencing the same thing today.  He then said it might be a hacker but go ahead and put in my information anyway I see what happens.  He said I could change my username and password if I got hacked.  Really!!  I finally gave up.  It was obvious thay the security department was clueless.  Does anyone know if this is from Ebay?  Thanks

Pop ups are happening to me - but not as a seller. Happens when I click on items to view. Have no idea why. Cleared all & ran scan - nothing found.  I cancel the popup without any changes that I know of, am able to view the item etc

I did search for

...... popup for password  ebayimg.com fe build-a-pool prod ......

Search came up with info when this happened in eBay over a year ago - odd the customer service eBay folks do NOT know what it is!

here is one of the sites search provided:

Yep, I'm getting it too. When I close the pop-up box, I can view things normally. Not affecting my eBay activities except for the annoyance. There is NO WAY I would put any personal info in that pop-up window. It's definitely some sort of hacker scam.  Hopefully eBay will get to work and fix this problem.

I see this now too. I even took snapshots of this popup in case I decide to complain to ebay. It sounds like not everybody is seeing this if ebay doesn't know what we are talking about. Here I will include some shots

And I am already clearly signed in. I took the second snap literally right after logging into ebay safely. Now it is happening every time I search for listings or go on my selling profile. Sometimes on the front page.
