Hi, I need help with "how to" resolve the issue of receiving items "not as described." I have been an ebay buyer for many years and this is the first time ever dealing with this issue.

 

I read through the Resolution Center, but I need to know:

 

How long to wait to open a case after emailing seller?

Should I send the items back before hearing back from seller?

 

The seller was quick in responding to questions before the purchases, but now...

I purchased six items and four are damaged. Items were described as "excellent and mint condition."

Open the dispute now.

 

Don't return the item until eBay or paypal directs you to do so.

 

When you return it make sure it has a delivery confirmation number.

 

At one time I would have returned an item on the good faith basis trusting the seller to do the honourable thing but not any more.

 

There have been several cases reported where eBay or paypal has denied a claim because the buyer returned the item before being instructed to do so.

1. email the seller - once you there ebay will show you a message seller has xxx ammount of time to respond.

Give him just that.

2. Get the RMA or directions from the seller on shipping back for refund.

3.If seller doesnt reply - open a case.

.......

Never ship the item back before hearing from the seller!!!

Unless you wait and wait - then open a case! Do not ship the item.

Chances are - you will be instructed to ship it back later or you might just get the money back and keep the item.

Give seller a chance to fix problems - if that fails let ebay-paypal employees do their jobs - all you do is describe the issue honestly -
