Seller ended auction

Seller ended auction
Mar 20, 2012 09:06 PM

I had the high bid on an item, Seller sent me an email saying somebody contacted him offering more money to end the auction. I wrote back for him to tell the guy to bid his offer amount and let the auction run. He responded rudely and canceled his auction.

What can I do?

Thanks

As long as more than 12 hours are remaining - the seller can  and has a right to Cancel All Bids & End Auction Early.

There is nothing you can do about it.

What do you do if the seller cancels with less than 5 minutes left?  This has happened to me twice now, both in the last week.

Although there may not be anything "technically" you can do about it, I believe that you can report such activity (especially if there is correspondence between you and and a seller via the eBay messaging center that is then "on record" and thus available to access by eBay to back up your claim) because it is NOT representative of good seller methods and standards that eBay professes to uphold AND they are VERY buyer "bias" at this point in time.

It certainly couldn't hurt.  eBay DOES have the ability to suspend seller's for periods of time for many different reasons if they deem that the seller is not acting in the best interest of eBay and it's buyers.  Trust me -- I know people it has happened to for MUCH less than what you are describing here.

Good luck!
