Should I leave a negative?
May 10, 2012 06:33 AM

Bought an item on the 3rd, from mischanin21. Seller didn't ship until yesterday. Chatted with a few of the sellers previous buyers that left Neutrals feedback.. They were unhappy with shipping time also.

I'm thinking it's time for a wakeup call for this seller. What would you do?

You shouldn't leave feedback until you actualy receive your item.

Feedback should reflect the total transaction not how long it took the seller to ship.

The listing specificaly stated they "Within 4-8 business days"

They did ship within that time frame so what are your grounds for complaining?

The statement "Delivery: Estimated within 4-8 business days" Is automatically generated quote from ebay. And I believe "Delivery" means I should have the package at my door within that time, not the amount of time it takes for the seller to get it shipped. The item just may show tomorrow, the seller is not that far from me. But to wait 5 days to ship an item that was bought using Buy It Now is unacceptable to me.

Hi,

Should you decide to zap this person w/ neg. rating, you'll "almost certainly," receive a neg. in retaliation.

Even if yours is a + Rating, for them; but in any way Criticizing, them, or their procedures!!!!!

Should you go to eBay contesting them and you've done,..... "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG!," & WANT YOUR, GOOD FEEDBACK RATING, REINSTATED ;...eBAY GIVES the Seller all the advantages!

Sellers just don't want to accept CRITCISM!

Sellers get TO KOPP OUT of  their side of the CONTRACT W/buyer.

Truth isn't always the best Policy w/eBay Sellers.

 Been through the PROCESS, twice.

I may not have helped. I sort of stay away from eBay,...unless I can't find exactly what I want from a Web Site.

Best of Good Fortune to you!!

I'd wait to leave feedback until the item is in your hand and you inspect it etc. If it really took that long to ship then this would be a negative. However, sometimes, a seller just don't update right away even though it was shipped promptly.

Sellers can't leave negative feedback so there is no retaliation here. Other than paying right away and making sure the address to be shipped is clear there is not much more to rate a buyer on anyway.

I am currently going through a similar problem, where the seller promised a date and didn't ship it until about 5 days later and now will not be here within the time frame promised. can i ask what you ended up doing?

ebay may be glitching again?...can't find a purchase you made on the 3rd...found a BIN/BO watch listing the seller had that closed on the 5th.

anyway...What would you do?

In over 400 ebay buys, we've never had the need to leave a neg for a seller, but would do so only if/when a seller turned out to be a scammer = attempted to take our money and not ship..OR..took our money and didn't send the correct widget AND didn't "make it right" at THEIR expense to correct [since we both sold and bought here, our belief is a buyer shouldn't be out ANY money if the error/mistake is on the seller's end]

I'd wait to receive the widget, inspect it to make sure it matched the description. If all was well with the widget and I received it within or near the "ESTIMATED" delivery time frame shown on the listing, I'd leave (+) FB and 5 stars in the DSR categories...since I "agreed" that the shown delivery time frame was acceptable to me by placing my bid or doing the BIN. If I wanted the widget more quickly, I'd find a listing that displayed a quicker delivery time.
