EBAY OFFERS ALL POWER TO BUYER... NONE TO SELLER
Oct 7, 2011 08:57 AM

Hi folks,

Is anyone else out there having more than usual number of difficult buyers lately? I had one who swears they never received item so I had to refund $, So I am out all the way around on that one.

Now I am dealing with a buyer and I am so P.O'd.... I sold some rebate forms. Described the rebates in detail, but just used an old stock photo of them. Clearly stated in the listing :THIS IS STOCK PHOTO, NOT COUPONS YOU WILL RECEIVE" customer left me positive feedback, then days later suddenly notices that the logo is different in the photo, files claim item not as described and demands refund.

I swear the coupon (rebate) is exactly as described in listing. These things expire soon. I just cannot give refund because a logo is different. Rebate is for exactly what I said it was for. This is crazy. Ebay always backs the buyer and gives the seller no support.

Anyone have any ideas? I sure won't be using stock photos anymore. Why are some buyers so difficult? Is it just buyers remorse?

mine experance was just the opposite.  A seller sold me a piece of junk.  I bought this item (a flywheel)  under good faith and sent payment as soon as the auction was over.  What I got was a piece of junk.   I filed a complaint with ebay thinkiing their buyer protection plan actually meant something, but eventually, ebay sided with the seller.  I was out a $115.  I bet the seller is laughing all the way to the bank on that one.  The item new is very expensive, even more so now.

The way I was treated by ebay, leaves me wondering if I should ever use ebay again.  I know you want to sell your products here, and you are probably a good ebayer, but not all sellers can boost that.  You may have something I want or need, but I will, in all likelyhood, most likely will use a brick and mortor for the purchase.

Hey  wait  till  you  get  a  buyer that  never  even  contacts  you  and  gives you negative feedback  because the post office  did  something to his package . Then  ebay  punishes  you  by   saying  your below  selling  standards  and   Puts  a  hold on  the  money  from  items  you  sell  , Then  even  funnier  they  tell  you  ways  to  improve  your  standards  one  is  to  minimize your selling cost  an while your doing that  ebays  taking  9 percent of your selling  cost  while punishing  you  ,

WELCOME  TO  EBAY , BUYERS MARKET

OP: You caused the problem in both cases. Get over youself.

1. Lost or damaged product...your problem. Always.

2. Stock photos. Sellers that use then get what they deserve.

What kind of loose cannon replies to a thread that is over 6 months old?

WRONG AGAIN nosportss.  Really WRONG this time.

Obviously there is no time limit on posting or replying to a comment on any thread on eBay.  Members are within their rights and eBay discussion forum rules permit comments at any time on any thread.

Indeed, a member should be commended for doing a little research and finding a thread that interest them (even if it has aged a bit) rather than creating a new, redundant thread.

You are right!!The sellers have no power. I sold a perfect brand new prada wallet to a nut in chicago..She said the wallett had mustard all over it..She did this n damaged my wallett. I had to refund her $440.00.The wallet that she return to me was NOT the one I sent her..E-bay needs to keep an eye out for her..The seller has NO rights..

Nothing stupid at all about a member occasionally or even rarely dropping into the discussion forums here on eBay and doing some research to find a thread that deals with the issue that is on his/her mind at the time.  Again, even if the thread has aged a bit, adding a post there is SMARTER than creating a whole new, redundant thread.

Now what is really STUPID is you and your feeble attempt to be the eBay discussion board bully.  Talk about the height of stupidity.....

I had a buyer that decided he wasn't satisfied with the item.  He wanted a full refund AND for me to pay shipping again.  Even though the auction was "no refunds"  I said I would refund if he would pay return shipping.  He opened a dispute, was awarded all his money back, and he still had the item.  So I then had to send him some money to ship back the item.  I haven't received it back yet.  SUCKS!

This is because I think that much power of the seller lays with the satisfaction of the buyer.

Both sellers and buyers may be sly, criminal or just low minded though in the long run they'll both be rooted out with a bad feedback. Besides the e-bay council soon will see whose most likeable ending their selling or buying experiment with a quarrell.

And some feedbacks may be moody more than reasonable, though still give an hint for improvement. I feel mighty good when a seller cares to write down the value of an item for me to partially or fully escape custom. When things are real cheap I'll be positive tolerant no matter what junk comes along, leaving a five star, but if something was expensive I don't big surprises of what was not mentioned in the ad of which should have been stated.

A great seller is a great person that's what.

And the great buyer is but anyone who comes along, paying the dime.

A seller do have rights, but must insure and guarantie themselves with expensive things and perhaps let go and to endure the loss of cheaper things now and then of which their selling lots and lots of usually with a great bargain.

A byer too endures times and times again of bad products with no quarreling or bad commenting, we simply lets things pass most often I guess, because of all the other happy bargains that e-bay do also provide.

I'll say most of all e-bay is great!
