Looks like we are in for a good time this year and have plenty of time to save up for Orlando.

It makes it all the more important to attend and learn as much as we can for the next 2 years.

I'm excited about Chicago and I love Orlando anytime.

It will be hard to wait two years to see and talk to our eBay friends though but maybe there will be regional ones close enough to attend.

Yes it will be a good time knowing we may not see friends for a year or more.

I attended the 2003 Live in Orlando, held at the same place. Nice facility and had a really good time. Plus I can start planning now to visit a high school friend who lives in Daytona Beach too.

Look at all the advantages of doing eBay Live in August, two years from now. I can be the first one to book the hotel right next to the convention center. The hotel rates and airfares will be cheaper in August. The crowds will be smaller (I have been to Disney World in August and the lines were very short) and we will appreciate the swimming pools much more.:^O

And we can use our good friends time share place for about $130 for the whole week! Now I am really seeing the positive side of all this very clearly. Cool Beans!!!

Not sure I will be able to make the August EBay Live....

/cries

I have a medieval faire that I do at that time for two weeks - slim possibility in getting my husband to drive me to the airport but then he would have to deal with packing up and moving everything home and that just isn't quite fair.

Luckily a couple of years from now, so will wait and fret about it then :)

Hi Everyone. Since I only live 45min. from the Orlando and the Orange Co. Conv. Ctr., its great eBay Live is coming back to Central Florida. I am still going to find a hotel because the traffic is horrible :( especially in the summer when the kids are off from school. Use to be our kids went back to school the beginning to middle August but the new law says not they go after Labor Day in Sept.

mister-etail-I am not sure when you were at Disney World but lines are very long and the parks are crowded in summer months. I have friends who work at Disney and they say to stay away unless I have to, sooooo I wait for Florida resident days (one advantage for us) ;) The Wet N Wild is only a few minutes away and what a BIG waterpark. Ahhhhh the swimming pools are nice.

There are a few hotels right there at the Convention Center and on I-Drive (the road the conv. ctr. is on) has lots more that will shuttle you or the local bus runs that way.

I myself will be staying out there because the traffic back and forth (will take me about 1 1/hrs.) is horrible especially in the early morning and 5ish. I sure don't want to miss anything that eBay will have planned those days :^O. Then the early morning classes and late night events. Not worth the drive.

If anyone needs any info. on the Orlando area, please feel free to contact me. 2 years is quite away but totally worth the wait.

medievalbooks-Hope you can make it to Orlando. Who knows, maybe a neighbor will take you to the airport :)

Am looking forward to meeting more people at my 5th eBay Live in Chicago and all of you on the boards. Maybe catch a cold drink in the powerseller lounge.

Have fun!

When I told the kids that we will go to Disney World in 2010, they were freeking out :) They have already put a big water bottle in the corner of the dining room in order to put every cents in it so that we can save money to bring the whole family (we have 5 kids) to Disney.

Beach for the time I will be at the convention and then family vacation at Disney.

I hope there will be some of these small events in Montréal.

I'm sad there won't be one next year, but looking forward to 2010. Plus, with it being August, my hubby might be able to attend! The timeshare will definitely be a good thing too!

mattie-lily-rose: WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I'll buy a piggy bank today to save money to take my kids to Orlando in 2010. By then boy will be 4 years. Old enough to enjoy it.

We are only 4, but it's expensive to fly from Peru to the USA. It's a big plan. I hope I have enough money by then!!!!

Any idea, what's the "official" hotel for eBay Live 2010? I mean, this time it's the Hyatt. Which one is the one for the Orlando Convention center?

see you soon!

Hey everyone,

Since I live with an hour from the Orange County Convention Center, I know some of that area.

There are a lot of hotels in that area but none connected to the Convention Center like in Chicago. That center is just 2 years old and about a mile long. Just a few doors down is the Embassy Suites which is a nice hotel.

Here is a phone number for the Orange County Convention & Visitor's Center (407) 685-9800. They have agents who can assist you with hotels in the area and answer other questions. The transportation number for the convention center is (407) 685-5856.

Hope this helps.

The last time eBay was in Orlando the hotel that was the "home base" for staff was The Peabody Orlando which was right across from the convention center.

Hey Giraffer.

I also attended eBay Live in Orlando in 2003 but just to let you know it is a new facility since you were here. It was built 2 years ago and is about a mile long and much bigger. In the same area, right across the street from the old one.

Wow I'm sure the new center is even nicer and excited to see it. Yes the Peabody was the hotel of choice back in 2003. I stayed about 3 blocks away, walking distance. It was safe to walk even late at night, just made sure there were others with you or nearby. There were ebayers walking all the time back and forth to the center and the Peabody.

I've stayed at the Peabody on numerous occasions. Very nice hotel. They have the "duck walk" every morning in the lobby, where a line up of ducks walk through the lobby. The kids get a real kick out of it!
When we stayed there, our balcony faced the pool and the convention center was right behind the pool. It would be a great choice for a hotel to stay at, and there are many restaurants and shopping in walking distance, though its quite hot, so we take the car everywhere!

Actually, since that area is one of the high Tourist Area's, buses and taxis are constantly running all day and night. A car is not needed unless you want to explore more of the Central Florida area.

Since I only live almost an hour away, I won't be taking me car to eBay Live 2010 :). Hubby can drop me off, I will stay at one of the hotels so I can go to all the day and evening events and then pick me up 3 days later. Works for me :^O He might even come with me for a day or two.

What a nice mini vacation for those who will be coming from out of state and out of the country and bring their kids. SO much to do and see, but remember it is HOT, HOT and HOT in August here. Very humid too.

Hi, I have an Ebay store and live near Chicago. I'm thinking about going to the convention, but I can't find any information about what the schedule of events is for each day. I have no idea what goes on there. How do I find out?

Thanks,

oh bk,

Please do try to attend. You choose the classes you want to take. How to take better pictures, How to find products to sell, How to make a better listing and the list goes on.

This is my 5th eBay Live and don't forget next year there isn't going to be one :(. You might want to attend next month. Then in August 2010 we come back to Orlando, woo hoo my area.

Networking at any eBay Live is sooo cool. Make sure you have business cards to hand out because you will be getting more than a handful back.

The Meet and Greet is fun to meet people you have either sold to, bought from or chatted with. Thats the night (Wednesday) before the actual eBay Live begins.

Hope to see you there.

Hey Helen, just to let you know we've built a new facility about 2yrs ago. Its much BIGGER and nicer than the previous one.

I live 45 min from it.

Carl is disappointed there is no eBay Live this year to ride his Motorcycle to and then only a short distance to Orlando but I am sure he will find somewhere to ride this year to.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

Hey mister-etail. Don't know the last time you were in Orlando in August but since I only live an hour from Disney and frequent it often, August is HOT, HOT & HOTTER and the crowds are growing bigger all the time.

Sorry to give you the bad news.
