We have had a great deal of emails from users of our latest iPhone application release and we would like to make sure you get the answers you need. Please see below for answers to frequently asked questions.

Q. How do I recover my user name or password?

A. Please go to this page which walks you through the recovery process.

Q. How do I register to use the eBay iPhone Application?

A. You can use your normal eBay login details. If you have never used eBay before then please go to this page and enter the required information, you will then be ready to use the eBay iPhone Application and any other eBay websites.

Q. How do I pay for an item I have won?

A. To pay for an item you have won using the eBay iPhone Application you need to go to the main eBay website using a computer (www.ebay.com). You can pay for the item by logging in, going to your myEbay page and selecting the item you want to pay for. There will be a link on the item to take you to the payment flow.

Q. Can I sell an item using my iPhone?

A. Currently we do not support selling items through the eBay iPhone Application. Please use the main eBay website to list and sell items.

Q. Can I view completed items on the eBay iPhone Application?

A. Currently we do not provide the ability to view completed items on the eBay iPhone Applications. Please use the main eBay website to view completed items.

I have paid for items through the eBay ap previously but now I am being directed to pay on the main website. Why was this functionality removed and when will it be reinstated? It seems a bit silly to be able to do everything through the iPhone ap except pay for the goods you have won.

This iPhone eBay version sucks. Take this junk and throw it out. Make it an app for those who want it. >: (

How do we get back to the classic view on the iphone? What if we are out of town with auctions ending???? WHY would ebay not want us to work? In the past I had to not work if I was travelling and the Iphone allowed me to keep my auctions up and running all the time. Now I will go back to not working when I need to go out of town which will be a loss to me and ebay! Please allow us to go back to classic view on the iphone!

you have ruined my ebay iphone experience with this mobile stuff. the classic site serves me much better. but just this past 3 days everything is being messed with. the mobile just does not come close, refinement of searches for one thing, the biggest thing with me. you need to make a "permanent" ability to have only the classis pc site available on the iphone. right now it keeps going back and forth, one day maybe, and then it changes your icons to only redirect to mobile. and then you have to start all over again and scroll down and hit the link to ebay.com and go from there. fix this please!!! i have not been on ebay all day on my iphone because at work (where i have some time to look at ebay on the phone) it , my icon for my particular search went back to mobile after almost a day being on classic. Do you understand people are being affected negatively , not buying !!

I have always been able to do invoicing withmy IPhone until this week. When I type in www.eBay.com it automatically goes to signin.mobileweb.eBay. That application is horrible. I do a lot of my invoicing and relishing of products with me IPhone but now I cannot. Nobody can seem to help me. I am so frustrated! Thus us definitely going to affect my EBay business

The Ebay app is only half usefull because the log-in allways fails. This is a common problem. When will Ebay get off there bottoms and fix it

Hi,
Does anyone know how to login to eBay or Paypal on an iPhone if you have a Paypal keyfob but don't have it with you?

Does it require a VeriSign authentication as someone suggested to me, or is it just not possible without the fob?

I have the same problem and customer "service" can't provide a fix nomatter how many times they "escalate" my call to the next moron.. err friendly person. NO eBay mobile anything works for me, not even m.ebay.com in Safari browser. Same problem. Can't log in. Regular website in Safari is no problem. WHAT GIVES!

(Suggest fixes to date: Clear browser cache.. um. that ain't it!)
(You need to send EBAY to phone number 308 (or something like this to activate your mobile mall. WHAT"? That definitely doesn't work!)
(Last answer is simply to hang up on me because they can't resolve the issue and they're probably given brownie points for making customer calls as short as they can..)

Hi stcshindo,

This FAQ is for iPhone 1.3. The current version is at 1.4 and we hope to have 1.5 with you soon. 1.4 and 1.5 both have PayPal payments built in to the app for most items.

Currently you cannot pay for items that require instant payment or third party check out, but for most items a 'Pay with PayPal' button will show in the view item page when you win an item.

Why is the eBay app disabled on the app store? I can see the app but the "get app" button is greyed out.

Okay I've figured it out. I just deleted the eBay app from the phone and reloaded it. When I logged in that time it went thru with no problem. Hope this helps someone, thats having the same problem.

I'm having the exact same problem, has there been a fix for this?

The app is currently available in the following countries:
Australia
Austria
Belgium
Canada
France
Germany
Ireland
Italy
Netherlands
Poland
Spain
United Kingdom
United States

We will be enabling more countries with our next release, but we have not locked down the complete list of new countries yet. I will post when we know the full list.

When are you going to release this for the peoples living outside of the states? I'm pretty eager to get my hands on this app... but unfortunantley i live in Sweden. :/ Can't se any reasons for you not to release it to the rest of the world.

I'd love to be able to have a different set of toolbar buttons for sold items. So I could mark items as dispatched, etc.
